Powder Dude!

Don't get us wrong, we're no powder hounds! We love groomed cruising runs so we can go really fast with minimal effort. However, when faced with powder, there is no better place we've encountered than Utah's Wasatch mountains.

On the flip side, we've also encountered some of the best groomed runs in Utah as well. The great thing about skiing in this region is the wide range of choices available to you.

Are you looking for runs untouched by shredders? Well Deer Valley and Alta still don't allow this blasphemy to occur on their slopes.

Looking for pristine runs untouched by groomers or skiers? Look no further than early morning of a huge powder dump at Alta?

Does all that powder bother you? Then head over to Deer Valley where the groomers never stop!

Having a tough day when it comes to snow conditions? No problem! There are nine world class ski resorts with all sorts of different skiing conditions within a 40 minute drive. We've seen a bright sunny day with no snow at Snowbird, but just 4 miles up the road at Alta they are knee deep in fresh powder. We've driven up to Snowbasin in bright sunshine only to round the corner to find white out conditions. Truly an amazing area that affords all kinds of different conditions for all levels of skiers.

We've now decided to stay in Salt Lake City, Utah and drive to the slopes. We wanted to stay slopeside in Park City, but Uncle Rusty prevailed and now we're staying in Salt Lake City. Looks like we'll ski Deer Valley on Saturday and Alta on Sunday with a trip to Snowbasin sandwiched in there somewhere. After doing a little more searching we have found the Hilton Garden Inn, 250 West, 600 South, Salt Lake, which each room has (2) Queens and a sofa bed all for the AAA rate of $125 night.

Drop us a line if you want to hook up!
