SKI
EQUIPMENT The Hogs
will not tell you whether Rossingol, Dynastar, K-2 or Salomon
are better. The only 2 comments we can make is work from the
boot down and bring your OWN equipment to the mountain (don't
rent) unless your test driving skis.
Start
with the boots you feel most comfortable in. Make sure your
ski professional is a professional who can analyze whether your boots need
to be "shimmed" to provide you with the maximum comfort or stability over
the long haul.
I've found Raichle
makes an excellent boot, but the other Hogs swear by different
manufacturers. The bottom line is how they make your foot feel.
Next, buy the best
bindings money can buy. I own a pair of Marker bindings which at
the time were the best money can buy. Do not skimp in this area under any
circumstances. In fact, trade in those Gore Tek pants and upgrade your
bindings.
Skis unfortunately are difficult
to buy. Its not like you can try them out and see how they handle or
anything like that.
it depends on what type of skier
you are and in what conditions you are most likely to encounter. This is why
it is important to shop at stores that specialize in selling this type of
equipment and to shop around as much as you can.
