It's hard for
me to believe that it has been nearly fifteen years since my very first cruise with
the Caveman and Schpoozie. To think that I was SO reluctant to go on that
cruise is now quite frankly mind boggling! I thought that cruising was for
"old folks" and that we'd be cooped up on some boat with nothing
to do but play shuffleboard and bingo.
Well, let me
tell you, I was completely wrong, although there are plenty of people who
play shuffleboard and bingo, the entertainment options on a cruise liner are
so vast that you literally wish you could be cloned so that you can attend
each event.
Of course,
when we went it was right around Spring Break, so it was more like a
fraternity party than anything else.
Since that
March of 1990, Your Humble Narrator has taken 16 cruises. That averages out
to about two per year. While I have enjoyed each and every cruise, there was
something different about each one that made it special in my mind.
I've listed
the cruises and ships I've been on with a run down of where we went and my
personal impressions of the cruise.
We'd also like
to share some of our advice to our like minded hog brethren. Some of you
have cruised once or twice, but the survey says that about 90% of Americans
have not. So, for those of you who have not, or are thinking about it, we'll
let you know some of things you can expect to encounter aboard a luxury
liner. |
