Wynn Las Vegas
http://www.wynnlasvegas.com/ Steverino sort of set
himself up for this. He raised expectations and had to build a hotel that
blows all of that away. Too bad he had to take away a real classy joint in the
Desert Inn to do it. In a lot of ways Wynn Las Vegas succeeds in what it sets
out to do in surpassing what was thought possible. On the other hand, it also
misses the mark sometimes. The Bellagio for example is a much more inspired
piece of work. The Wynn looks like a brown Stardust tower on steroids. There
are reports of cracked tile and carpeting gone awry. Quibbles aside this is a
jaw dropping place. The jaw dropping prices have been reeled in a bit too. The
food, the rooms and the amenities are all top notch. Wynn recruited some of
the old line Wynn employees from the Bellagio and the Mirage and it's clear
the staff love working for him. It's a great hotel that serves as a massage
for a massive ego, but if you've got the cash, Steve's got the gash.
