Amenities: Large flat screen TV. Flat screen TV in bathroom. Robes and slippers. Soaking tub and separate shower. Very large room with separate area for couch and chairs. Automatic drapes. Ironing board and iron. Mini bar. Huge king bed. Great thick and huge towels. High speed computer hook up and key board in the room which may be used with the huge flat screen TV as a monitor.
View: Full wall of floor to ceiling glass with a view of the golf course directly over the 18th tee huge waterfall. Beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. Also view of the Hilton, Circus Circus, and a few other Hotels.
Other: Largest and best regular (not suite) room I have been in Vegas. Not a suite but suite sq. footage. Incredibly comfortable bed. Great TV. Great robes and towels.
Downside and I would write this off to just opening was poor housekeeping. Problems with key cards not working.
One unique problem not connected with the newness was the room doors not closing. Most people are used to hotel room doors closing and locking just by swinging the door shut. Not at the Wynn. You must pull the door shut to make sure it locks. After leaving the room a few times and noticing about a third of all the doors open slightly I told security. They said they were aware of the problem and had people patrolling the hallways and closing doors. Index

Wynn Las Vegas Room:  5721 Resort Panoramic View Room posted 5/11/05
At this early stage in the hotel it didn't hurt to mention to check in that I was writing a review. Kyle gave us a panoramic room on the highest non smoking floor ($249-$249- 309). At 640 sq ft (I think) it's one of the largest single rooms around, even larger than Rio. What knocks your socks off is the view....unbelievable. All the way north to Mandalay Bay. Our view also looked directly at the front of Treasure Island, too far away though to appreciate the show. We could look down at the Wynn waterfall which is really their centerpiece as they project a show on it at night (music and images). The bed with the high  thread count linens is probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Lots of marble in the room and bathroom. 2 flat panel T.V's (Gateway brand, not the premium Phillips brand you'll find in THE Hotel). There's an iron and board, wall safe and a fax. Drapes and
sheers operate on a wall switch. Tasteful art on the wall. Index

Your player's card is your room key. Open the door.  Damn.  Nineteen hundred fifty square feet is a pretty big suite.  The picture on the internet shows black marble with the red accents.  We had white marble, which was preferable to my tastes.  There is a private massage room (with table) to the left of the foyer and a half-bath to the  right.  The living area is quite large, at least 1000 sq. ft., with the wall-to-wall windows.  Hit the power switch by the door to open the sheers, and you can see forever.  We were just above and to the right of the water wall outside of SW Steakhouse (pretty far down, though).  You notice at night that every tree has one or two lights at its base. It's really beautiful.  And, if you happen to be sitting looking out at sunrise (I couldn't get Julie away from the windows), the distant mountains gradually appear with the dawning light and are beautiful.  Geeze, damn, dad-gum.both the morning and the night views were just incredible.

Okay, back to the suite.  The middle 50% of the ceiling is mirrored, with  molding framing the variety of mirrors.  We spent more time on the couches then in the bed.  :)  To the far left is the dining area - basically two built-in booths at 90 degrees with a rectangular table.  To the right is the wet bar, a writing table, etc.  Fixed and cordless phones.  LCD television as shown in the website picture.  Beautiful molding and wonderful charcoal nudes. Julie immediately said she wasn't going back to Houston; she would chain herself to something hoping they would just leave her there to avoid
the bad publicity..

The bedroom is great.  The bed is as comfortable and consistent with any 5  Star hotel at which I've stayed.  The linens are very nice, a 320 thread count - not as nice as home but still better than that sandpaper a lot of  hotels use.  The feather pillows were of excellent quality.  (Side note: They will not only sell you the linens but also the entire bed in one of the stores in the shopping area.)  There is a second power drape switch by the bed.

The bathroom is all marble and very nice.  Nightlights are under each dressing table and can be turned on or off by a switch next to the main switch.  The toilet is private and the tub is a spa.  The shower is pretty  cool.  You have three selections:  Rain, Head and Hand.  The handheld is very nice, the showerhead is a Speakman, and the rain head is perfect. However, here we encounter our first glitch:  the selector for the
Rain-Head-Hand is very delicate.  The engineer we had to call up to the suite said that he is constantly repairing them due to over zealous (or strong) users.  So, if you go and it's stripped, call maintenance.  If it's not, turn it very carefully.  The his-&-hers closets are characterized as walk-ins, but that's a bit of a stretch.

We loved the colors throughout the hotel.  Lots of reds, purples, greens - all earthy yet vibrant and contrasted with creams and off-whites.  The flowers are everywhere and are magnificent. The suite had a lot of deep red grasscloth, which contrasted well with the cream marble with dark accents. The STS have only two elevator banks:  floors 22 and below and 23 and above. There are no floors 40 - 49.  I think it's aliens or something that occupy those floors.  Anyway, most people agree that this is the worst design flaw. We only have 3 elevators to go to 23-60 (but not 40-49!), and by Saturday we were packed like sardines.  And only because you had waited until you grew another gray hair before the elevator came!  So, be prepared for this.  It's the worst part of your stay.

Wynn Las Vegas Room:  5303 posted 6/6/05

The elevator banks let you off in a foyer.  Go through the foyer and 5303 is
the second room to the right.  I like being close to the elevators if you're
in a situation where there's not going to be a lot of traffic, or if the
suite is large enough to muffle any noise.

There was also a flat screen TV (about 42") mounted on the wall in the
bedroom.  There is a small (about 15") TV on the right dressing side in the
bathroom (closest to the shower).  The maids leave the one in the main
living area on and tuned to hi-defininition pictures of flowers, etc.
However, when you view a program that is not in hi-definition, the picture
suffers as you would expect.

The bed was king-sized and the floor was non-smoking.  There were very nice
robes and slippers.  All the standard stuff plus razors and toothbrushes.
Safe in right closet. Along with the iron and ironing board.  There is a
lighted make-up/shaving mirror.  There was an additional large chest of
drawers in the bathroom complimenting the smaller ones in the bedroom.
There are wireless keyboards and high-speed internet (~$5.00/day, I think)
in both the living area and the bedroom.  The reading lights over each side
of the bed are ceiling-recessed and should be on rheostats rather than
simply off/on as they are rather bright.  The bedroom view focused more on
the mountains.  There were reading chairs and ottomans in front of the
windows in the bedroom.

Living area has two sofas that face each other with the flat screen at the
end.  (The website picture of the Salon shows this view.)  Everything is
quite well spaced.  The view, other than seeing the Wynn lake below, is of
the shopping mall (Neiman's, Saks, Nordstrom's, etc.), Treasure Island (yes,
you can see the flashes of the show at night), Mirage (yes, you can see the
Volcano go off), from the right the corner and you can see Caesar's, Rio,
and of course the Venetian (when they finish the addition, your view past
Treasure Island will probably be cut off).  As I mentioned, the mountains
are a wonderful touch in daylight and at night the city lights and well lit
main roads let you know it's not just a hole-in-the wall.  I don't think you
can see Downtown from the other end of the suite, but I don't actually
remember trying.

The do-not-disturb is actually a switch at the door next to the light
switch.  Outside, next to the doorbell, it says very plainly, "Do Not
Disturb".  Even the building engineer would not violate it.  I goat a call
an hour after I requested maintenance saying that they had been by 3 times
but would not ring the doorbell unless I turned off the DND.

Yes, you do have to pull the door shut.  Julie had left to go downstairs for
something and when she came up and told me the door was still cracked.  I
had just let it shut and walked off.  She also mentioned that 2 doors down
there was a heated discussion with the suite occupants and security.  The
occupants were saying that $3,000 was missing from their suite...

There was a DVD player in the wall by the bar.  (I think there was one in
the bedroom, but I wasn't watching movies so I don't remember.)  The bar is
not stocked (other than the mini-bar behind one of the cabinets) unless you
request it.  There is another refrigerator next to the mini-bar.

The chocolate covered strawberries they sent up came on a molded white and
dark chocolate presentation stand.  The strawberries are available in the
chocolate store in the shopping area for $4.00 each.  I didn't see a price
for the presentation stand.

Assigned room
5337, a 53rd floor Resort room with panoramic view. What a room! Comfy King
bed, sofa, table and chairs, dresser, LCD wall mounted TV, and a view of all
of the strip south and water feature. All marble bathroom had separate tub /
shower, separate sinks, a 'water closet' for the toilet, and a small flat
panel TV. Dark wall coverings and near-matching carpet in the Wynn LV
signature dark brown, with Warhol artwork. Also, a work area with fax
machine. Steverino definitely got his $2.6 billion worth (except for where
the tile's falling apart in the lobby!)! ....................

Wynn Las Vegas Room:  2343  posted 10/1/05

Room 2343 is on the 23rd floor, with a full strip view.  I had a good view of The Venetian, TI, Mirage, Caesars Palace, and Front.  Further away were Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Excalibur, and the Rio, among others.  There was also a view of a broad expanse of mountains, and of some of Wynn's water features.  Lastly, there was a great view of a big hole in the ground - the future addition to The Venetian.  Oddly, I enjoyed looking at the activity there. The room is very large.  Ten foot ceilings make it feel larger still.  The walls have a textured, dark bronze wall paper.  The ceiling is white; the furniture is light colored. One wall is completely taken up by floor to ceiling windows.  The curtains (both sheer and solid) are electronically controlled by buttons near the bed. There's a good amount of drawer space.  The dresser itself is somewhere limited, as one side is devoted to a mini bar.  However, there are two very large night stands with drawers.  There is a large closet, with a safe. The flat screen TV is mounted on the wall to the left of the bed.  It swivels to provide a good view from the bed, or anywhere else in the room. The A/C is OK, but if the curtains are opened and the sun is shining into the room it never gets cold - cool, but I like cold. There's a desk, a round table, a sofa, and a large oval footstool (or something).  There are three phones, a FAX, and internet access.  There's a fancy clock radio.  If you have an iPod, a cable from the radio will plug into the iPod and play back your iPod's music.
The bed is wonderfully comfortable.  It has more pillows than anyone needs, but the turndown service moves most of them off the bed and out of the way. The bathroom is huge.  It has a large shower, a very large tub, two sinks with a center area and chair, a small flat screen TV (nice for watching the Redskins beat Dallas 14-13 in the fourth quarter), and a scale.  The toilet is in a separate room.

I liked the room a lot! Index

Wynn Las Vegas Room:  1137  posted 5/20/06

Wynn Las Vegas - one night - rack rate of about $250 - Room 1137:
Very spacious standard room, would probably be called a mini-suite anywhere
else.  The view was of the strip, facing south.  We asked for high floor,
strip view, etc. when checking in, and we checked in early, but this was as
high up as we could get.  The hotel was absolutely packed, with a gazillion
people at registration at about 11 am on a Sunday.  I loved the
floor-to-ceiling windows and thought it was a nice touch that the bed faced
the windows, since one of my favorite things in Vegas is looking out at all
the lights at night.  The view was fine, facing south to the Mirage and TI,
and across the street to the crashed UFO that is the Fashion Show Mall, but
after Sheldon has finished his latest addition, you won't be able to see
anything else facing south at that level.  One down side of being so low is
that there are a lot of lights from the Wynn itself - I woke up at about 3
am wondering why it was so bright in the room.  (This was obviously with the
drapes open - there was no problem with the drapes closed).  The bed was
extremely comfortable.  The decor was very, well, brown.  This seems to be
the latest trend in Vegas hotel decor - everything is very contemporary in
browns, blacks, and grays.  I think it's sort of boring.  The bathroom was
very nice, with two sinks, large separate tub and shower.  There was a
high-definition plasma TV in the room and a little flat panel TV in the
bathroom. Index
