HWTH LAS VEGAS HOTEL GUIDE

Las Vegas Room Descriptions:

A message to AVLVers:

Here are the hotel room descriptions that I've been able to harvest on the NG so far. There have been some well written trip reports posted, but alas, no room numbers associated with them.

If you are going to Las Vegas and are going to report back here, include the hotel and room number where you stayed, along with a description of the view from the room, amenities in the room, whether it was smoking/non smoking, how it was furnished, king/double/queen, toiletries offered, safe in room, distance from casino, elevators, ice machines etc. Please indicate the days of the week, what you paid and how you booked your room. Also, list any positive or negative observations you may have had during your stay. I will be collecting these descriptions and posting them on a monthly basis, along with this reminder. My partner in crime will also post a 'reminder' around the middle of the month. Hopefully, we will collect a decent little data base of rooms to request and possibly rooms to avoid on YOUR next trip to Las Vegas!

Special Thanks to Buell Gamill for putting this in alphabetical order! The entries are then sorted by date received.

Aladdin  Room: 1211 & 1218
Smoking:   Yes
Recommend: No

Amenities: Avg size room.  Armoires instead of closets.  Small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bath gel. Large fluffy towels & wash clothes.  Very large bathrooms w/Jacuzzi type tub & separate shower.  Separate door to toilet. Marble floors.  Two double beds (queen size?) Cable TV, iron & board, blow dryer.  Two phones, one was a cordless - although it wasn't working.  Port for computers. Safe in room.  No refrigerators, wet bar, or coffee makers.

View: 1218 didn't have a view at all, except of a roof top.  1211 did have a view, currently the construction site of the new restaurant and of the strip from Harley Davidson & the helicopter airport (?) and South (North?) to Mandalay Bay

I would not stay at this hotel again.  Compared to the other hotels, this hotels doesn't really offer anything except the basic casino & shopping, which you can get anywhere.  Service was horrible & managements attitude even worse.  Casino is small & cramped difficult to find your way around. This room was a smoking room and I do not smoke, but the rest of the group I was with did smoke and we wanted to keep all of the rooms together.  I didn't think it would matter since nobody would be currently smoking in my room, but the room reeked of fresh cigarette smoke.  The water for the showers never got hot, lukewarm at best, and the bathroom did not have a ventilation fan that you can turn on, although the room never got steamed up since we didn't have hot water. "French" doors to the bathroom which left about 1/4" gap between them when closed.  Sink is in the bathroom which makes it difficult for two people to get ready at the same time when traveling w/friends. Aladdin  Room: 1774 posted 8/14/01
Amenities: Iron/board, safe, blow-dryer, computer, usual bathroom amenities. View: Resort Room on the 17th floor. We never saw a regular room, so not sure where the extra 100 square feet in the Resort room was. Maybe in the entry. It was rather large. The bathroom had two vanities with lots of counter space, a great tub, a separate shower, and enclosed toilet. Lots of open space in the bathroom, too. The room had two queen beds, a desk with a computer (and free Internet access), a couch and coffee table, an ironing board and iron, a clock radio, two phones (one cordless), and an armoire with drawers, safe, closet, and TV. The closet could be considered small, the safe large. Our view was of Paris, the Arc de Triumph, the Eiffel Tower, and Bellagio. It was fun to stand at the window and watch the fountains. Index

Aladdin Room:  2036 posted 8/14/01
Amenities: We upgraded to a Resort Room#2036 and it was great! Bathroom was almost as large as the bedroom! Had 2 vanities, huge glassed in shower and nice DEEP soaking tub with tons of towels! View from the bedroom included Paris Balloon and Eiffel tower, Bellagio and the lake with dancing waters, Mirage, Rio, and the mountains in the background, out of 16 visits this was the best view yet. Aladdin Room: 2330 posted 8/14/01
Smoking:         Yes
Though the room was a smoking room, we could smell no smoke at all. We had no problems with water or anything else. Water temperatures and pressures were fine and there were no noises from anywhere. The beds were very comfortable and I didn't have the feeling of "cheapness" from anything. My mother loved the room. I really liked it, but I can see how differing tastes in decorating (lots of gold/tan coloring) might leave some people wanting something else View: The room was on the top floor with a gorgeous view of the Bellagio fountains, Aladdin pools, and Paris balloon (room 2330). Aladdin Room: 1469 posted 8/14/01
Reading the comments here helped a lot because we asked for a free room upgrade and were given a resort room facing the strip (1469) which was just off the elevator. The room - Fantastic! 2 King size beds, couch, computer and 2 phones, everything was extremely bright and clean! Never had any problem with the maid waking us up to make the room. The bathroom is as large as everyone said, no fan but with the vent in the ceiling we didn't need any. The water pressure was fine, if I had to fill a tub that size in my home it would take 15 minutes too! It took a while to figure out how to get the door of the cabinet out of the way so we could see TV but once we figured it out there was no problem. The room was not noisy but it is true if someone in the next room runs water in the tub you can hear it in the bathroom very clearly. Index

We stayed in room 1430 with a view over the strip and the fountains try for that room if you can . The position on the strip is ideal and the facilities are generally good .  Other:  The water system is only noisy when you run your bath . We heard no other noise all during our stay , the shops are good and the casino is fine . GO TO the buffet it may be more expensive than others but it is the best in town by a long way , good value Index

Aladdin Room: 1829 posted 8/14/01
The room itself was large and open and very nice. Bathroom was huge and nicer than anything I had stayed in before. The separate shower and water closet really make a difference. The walk from the desk to the elevator was a short one and the room was close to the elevator  View: We were very impressed. We asked for a room upgrade when we checked in and received a free upgrade to a resort room with a great view of the South strip (#1829). I believe we could have gotten an even better view but we insisted on a non-smoking king room. Index

Aladdin Room: 1093 posted 10/28/01
Day:  Wednesday Thursday
Rate: $49
Agency: Direct with Aladdin from a slot club offer.
Amenities: Large standard room by Vegas standards. Single king-size bed, large plush chair, table desk with internet terminal and armoire with safe, TV and ironing board/iron inside. Very large bathroom with single vanity, separate shower and deep tub plus private WC. This room was definitely 7 rooms from the elevator, being almost at the end of the wing.
View: Not the best in the house. Primary view directly forward was the roof of the casino. It blocked a majority of the forward view, allowing you to see the very top of the Bellagio. Too the right, you get a good view of the Paris balloon, Arc and the main building. In the background, you can see a lot of Caesars Palace.
Other: Although Aladdin is in Chapter 11, I had a fantastic time regardless of what negative comments have been made about the casino. Desk employees were friendly as were the dealers and wait staff I had the pleasure of dealing with. The casino was looking pretty empty on Wednesday night, but on Thursday is was getting way better and on Friday noon, it was jammed pack. Probably helped that the Radio Music Awards show was scheduled for that day. I will definitely be coming back before my slot club offer expires!  Index

Aladdin Room: 1170/1172 posted 12/08/01

Rooms 1170 and 1172 were in the finger closest to Paris. They both had king beds and two windows with a couch in between.  We had views of the top of Aladdins roof, Paris and their balloon and a bit of the fountains at Bellagio. I opened the vent on the window and quickly shut it...we must have been right over the kitchen.  The resort room is very big with a HUGE bathroom.  It had sinks and vanities on either side as well as the soaking tub and water closet. The room also had a pc for internet access which was $10/24 hours.  Very nice room...not worth the $50 additional.  Mom even commented that the armoire was entirely too small. Aladdin looks really nice on the inside.  You could never guess that based on the ugly way the place is built.  If you have an upcoming trip I would actually say stay here.  They should have the lowest rates in the area except maybe Bally's. Aladdin Room: 3297 posted 1/6/02

Took the North Tower elevators after a swift check-in at VIP Services. 32nd floor, end of the hall through double doors which required key entry. To the right of the little entry room was room's 3298 door, single, but our room had a double door which of course required another key entry and which led to a large foyer. Facing us as we walked in was a very large screen TV, about 55-60' in front of which were two chaise lounges with a table in between. To the right is a large empty space with a built-in desk at which I am sitting, and a half-bath. I dead space to the right of the couches must be for setting up catered affairs. To the left of the foyer is a nice sized dinner table, on which we found a wide assortment of fruits, nuts, cheeses, wines, and a welcoming note. There is a walk-in wetbar behind the dining table with a refrigerator, but no ServiBar. Winding around to the left is a closet, and then the master bedroom with an amoir (sp) in which there is a 30" TV. Winding further along you enter what I call the bathroom complex, with an inordinately large area containing a double vanity, plus a separate sitting area. Along the back wall are a large shower with a sitdown area and a overlarge room with both a toilet and a bidet. To the right of the hall toward the BR complex is another closet and the piece de' resistance, a soaking tub for two which has a rounded door which can be opened unto the living room. It is hard to describe the 1255 sq ft suite, which could serve some families as living quarters, but suffice it to say, we were impressed. This place would be perfect to serve as a gathering place for a wedding party or reception. The price I was quoted when I called anonymously was $399 Sunday thru Thurday, and $499 Friday and Saturday. Thanks goodness I am being comped. Oh, I failed to mention the view----FANTASTIC---180 degree vistas of Bellagio, Bellagio Lake, Paris's Ballon, Paris, and back to the mountains. Incredible!! Index

Amenities: This was a 2 bed smoking room, and the view was outstanding, encompassing the fountains of Bellagio, Caesars, the Eiffel Tower, the Paris Balloon and the Arc de Triomph.  The view extended all the way North to the Mirage, and the fountains could be easily seen. The most striking thing about this room was the size of the bathroom, which was huge with a separate commode, a large soaking tub with no jets, and a hairdryer.  There was shampoo, conditioner, and bubble bath. The room had a full-length mirror, a small closet and an armoire with 6 drawers.  A large safe was in the closet. Also included were a 2-line phone, an alarm clock and a cordless phone.  On the desk, which could also double as a makeup table, there was a computer; the cost was $9.95 per day. www.geocities.com/suiteeeee

Quick check-in with the room ready upon arrival (I am always afraid it won't be). The suite was at the end of one of the two spoke-like protrusions shooting out from the main body of Aladdin, and was sort of a quadrant, which probably mirrored the room next door.  There was a foyer with a desk with a computer, and two closets. Straight on was a door to the bedroom, which had a king-sized bed and a large sitting area with a couch perpendicular to the bed and TV /armoir, and facing another set of doors that led to a very long dressing area and sink, then to a gigantic bathroom with a large sitdown shower, another sink, a separate commode and bidet room, and the deepest soaking tub made, with a built-in 32"TV mounted on the wall. The tub lined a massive window which looked out over to the lake at Bellagio and North up the strip----fantastic. Similar view from the bedroom. Luxurious. Don't know what they call it, but it was more comfortable than the End Cap Suite we stayed in last month though half the size. Index

Amenities: marble bathroom, soaking tub, separate shower and toilet, computer for $10 a day, safe, lots of seating and lights, tv, tasteful decor. View: Other than the convenient location, this is why you stay at the Aladdin.  We had a gorgeous view of the Paris balloon and the Bellagio fountains.  We live in the "woods" so an exciting city view like this is great fun for us.  My parents had room 3249 and had a great view looking down the strip, but you had to crane your neck to see the Bellagio fountains. Other: Aladdin was like all of the other properties, making you go through the casino to get anywhere.  And, the only thing signed well was, the casino.  The self-parking is way far away from the rooms.  You have to go through the shopping area as well as the casino.  We used the valet area to load and unload as we had a baby and a disabled adult.  They did not seem pleased.  We tried to use some of the promotions and that was a total hassle in order to get crap!  They gave us a coupon, which had no instructions in order to use, but when we presented it at the restaurant, we were told we had to redeem the coupon for another coupon.  What a joke.  Other than that, we loved the place.  The view was spectacular.  The cafe had good food in plentiful portions. Desert Passage was a good shopping area, although not as good as the Forum Shops. We paid $66 a night and were thrilled.  I don't know how thrilled I would have been had I paid $150 on up? Index

Aladdin  Room: 3391 posted 8/17/02

Stayed at Aladdin - got a standard room (no free upgrade this time). The property is still bankrupt, but the service wasn't lacking. Everything was perfectly acceptable, but nothing spectacular.  However, there are a couple things I've said in the past that need retracting:  1. A few weeks ago, I commented that I didn't think there are any standard rooms with a view of the fountains across the street.  I'd not had one before on three visits to the hotel, and was led to believe that all the low-rent quarters were on the back side.  However, the room we got this time (3391) has a small window that looks out directly on the fountains.  It's a mixed blessing though - you have to move the table and chair to see out the window, and while the view is excellent, it's a trade-off for the noise: the fountains make quite a rumble when they fire off high into the air, and it's quite audible in the room.  Light sleepers beware.  2. In my trip report for December 2001, I crabbed that the Aladdin was stingy with the comps, as they gave me nothing at checkout after five days of playing 4-6 hours a day at $25/hand.  Turns out that they considered the promotional offer that brought me there (two free nights, $100 in free chips, some other perks) as being "comped in advance." This time, I went without an incentive package, and they comped most of the room charges (five out of seven nights) off the bill at check-out time, which I consider to be fair consideration for my action.Index

Day: Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Rate:  $79.00 per night
Recommend:       Yes
Agency: Through the hotel's website
Amenities: 2 double beds, large sofa, coffee table, 2 large windows, armoire w/ limited closet space, internet access computer w/flat screen, 2 phones, one cordless, no phones in bathroom.  Large bathroom with 2 sinkson either side of the room, walk-in shower with bench, good water pressure; large soaking tub, separate water closet, strangely placed hooks so that there is no place to conveniently hang your towels or robe upon getting out of the tub or shower.
View: The view from this room gave a 3/4 view of the strip facing Monte Carlo and New York New York.  By 3/4 I mean that you couldn't see all the way down the strip because the view was being partially blocked by the other side of the building.  There was also a complete view of the hotels pools and waterfall.  Although I believe the waterfall only runs during weekends.
Other: Watch out for that bogus water charge that the hotel will try to add to your bill for an unopened bottle of water.  If they do add it even though you haven't opened the bottle, complain VEHEMENTLY to the hotel management, I did.  The charge was immediately removed from my bill.  Also, make sure you have a remote control in your room so that you can occasionally check the charges on your bill.  Whoever the person is that is opening these bottles so that you can be charged for it needs to be disciplined or fired.  Also, the buffet is overpriced and the food isn't very good.

Aladdin Resort Vista Suite 1680: posted 1/14/03

Non-smoking suite described many times before. Large entry with desk, computer, and two closets, large bedroom with loveseat and 31" TV mounted in wall, elongated dressing area for the wife, gigantic bathroom with separate toilet and bidet room, shower, and two-person soaking tub under another 31" TV and next to a picture window facing out to Bellagio fountains and Paris' balloon. Only thing a little peculiar this visit was the absence of glasses, which were replaced by individually wrapped plastic cups. The wife commented on this, and I submitted that maybe it was because of the rumor that maids just wipe off dirty glasses and try to pass them off as clean.  Still, this seemed a little cheap in such a nice suite.

Aladdin Strip Suite 33xx posted 3/11/03

Got upgraded from a regular room to a Strip Suite... just for asking. $85/night (internet rate) for Friday and Saturday is what we paid... (Strip Suites were going for $499/night off the internet). It was room 33xx (can't remember) We had requested 2 beds so they brought up a free roll-away bed to go along with the 1 king bed in the room within 5 minutes of arriving in the room. GREAT SERVICE. 33rd floor view was facing the strip and we could see both sides, including the fountain show at the Bellagio. Here were the problems: SMALL living room, NO fridge, NO wetbar, POOR lighting, a WIDE pole right in the middle of the room, but HUGE bathroom including large tub... but NO whirlpool which was shocking for a new hotel's $500/night suite. Also, it was very POORLY designed in that there was NO door to the bathroom, just the toilet. The shower door was clear glass, and it was uncomfortable for the girls to shower especially when the shower directly faces the 1 king bed. Definitely would NOT pay $500 for this garbage, better off staying at a Venetian or Bellagio suite at that price.

Aladdin  Room: 2043 posted 9/21/03

My room at the Aladdin was 2042.  The room itself was nice, but there were some problems.  It is difficult to get to the curtain because of the table and chair next to the window.  You also have to move the easy chair to open some drawers in the combination TV Center/dresser.  The closet space is also inadequate for two people for a week, but since I was alone and just in for the weekend, it was fine.  The beds were standard hotel beds, nothing special, but not bad.  The lighting, however could easily be improved. There was only one light for the bed.  There needs to be at least two lights for each bed.  The bathroom was very spacious, but lacked a lock.  The fixtures were of good quality, and there was plenty of closet space. However, why does such a high class joint use disposable plastic cups in their bathrooms?  If I'm paying that kind of money for a room, I expect to see glasses made out of real glass in the bathrooms.  To be honest, it is a nice hotel, but you need to be there for more than a weekend to appreciate the place

counted on to play $25 - $50 per hand of black jack for 4-8 hours a
day.  And for that the Aladdin stepped up.  Again.  It's not the best
property on the strip, but it's far from the worst.  The room was

Aladdin, "deluxe room" 3147, nonsmoking, king bed, comped:

This was our first stay in a regular room at Aladdin, and we were just
a little bit disappointed.
The room was nice enough, and probably larger than standard rooms at
other hotels or chains, but didn't do it for us. The bath was large
with a soaking tub, separate shower stall, and separate commode room,
but one sink. At least it had an in-room safe, as well as a distant
view of the fountains (but mostly construction).

Aladdin's casino REALLY sucked. There are tremendous construction walls
all over the place, squeezing probably the same number of machines and
tables into half the amount of room, and even then it was crowded at
every table. The music was atrocious with a terrible sound system.
There was just no way we felt welcome or comfortable at the casino, so
after doing the bare minimal obligatory amount of gambling there, we
got the hell out of Dodge.
We were very happy that the room, and eventually the meals, were
comped, because other than the room, it was a casino out of hell. We
played at Paris and Caesars for the most part.
Funny thing is, on prior trips I have never won at the Aladdin, but
this time I couldn't lose!!

Amenities: a gross 1950's refrigerator, a chocolate brown scum-infested soaking tub with mildewed grout and cracked tiles, seating area with patio furniture. View: the windows look out onto a corridor or other windows. Other: This property came close to ruining our entire vacation, but I figured before putting it out of my mind, I needed to warn others.  The place is rated 4-stars and we got the room for $49.  Too good to be true... yes!  I should have been clued in by the lack of room pictures anywhere on the net.  I also could find very little written about it. The service was supposed to be great.  We arrived early and were told we would have to wait as no rooms were clean.  This despite a relatively empty parking area.  We were told by a gruff, rude woman that rooms were not preassigned, and that it was a first-come basis. We waited for three hours for a room while dozens of others checked in.  Complaining just got strange looks between the staff?  When we finally got our rooms they were filthy and outdated. We had booked our rooms through a broker, so there was no way to leave and get our money back.  We decided to suck it up.  Now on to the noise problem.  This place advertises relaxing, but it wasn't even close.  We had groundskeepers outside our window at 6:40am loudly trimming bushes and lawn mowing.  I called the manager to complain, voicemail, no response. One of our party called to complain about her room.  She was moved to a remodeled room, significantly nicer than what we had.  Nevertheless, it was still only the quality of a Holiday Inn.  We figured that because we had purchased the rooms from a broker, they made us wait for the old rooms. We should have asked to move also, as the rooms were substandard.  They had dust and crumbs along the baseboards and under the cushions, the carpet and sofa cushions were stained, linens had holes, air conditioning units old and falling out of wall, etc. etc.  There was lots of DNA and even personal articles left from previous guests.  They call this place a "resort" which is a hidden code for "budget motel."  Their advertising is very misleading.  The lobby and grounds are nice, but the rooms that have not been updated are horrible.  Beware. Aladdin room 2664 south tower - King bed, non-smoking.  This room was
pretty much a mirror image of room 1860 that I occupied a week earlier.
Most of what I wrote about that room applies to this one, except that
the lighting above the bathroom sink is on a dimmer switch.  The view
out the window is the same, though from a slightly higher angle.  The
A/C, however, seemed less effective and could barely keep the room cool
enough despite running on high all the time.  Also, after being in the
room a while, I noticed some recurring mechanical noise (not the A/C)
of unknown origin.  I don't think it was the elevators, which were
nearby but across the hall.  My room had a neighboring room only on one
side, with the other side housing some sort of service area (but not
housekeeping).  I suspect the noise came from there, perhaps water
pumps for the higher floors or something.  Anyway, while it wasn't loud
enough to keep me from falling asleep, it was annoying.  I recommend
avoiding that room and perhaps other south tower rooms ending in "64."
The next day I requested a different room and was given 1120, which I
found acceptable.

As has been reported, the Aladdin is being converted to a Planet
Hollywood.  A large section in the middle of the casino is currently

they hope to have the renovations finished by the end of the year.

removable wooden hangers, ironing board and iron.  By the window is a
round table with armchair and floor lamp.  On the table is a tray with
an ice bucket, 2 glasses and 2 one-liter bottles of water ($4.95 each
if you open them).  A/C comes from a vent near the window; it was
fairly quiet.  The bathroom and entryway take up nearly half of the
total room space.  There's a full-length mirror in the entryway.  The
bathroom has a soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower.  There's a
marble countertop nearly 6-feet wide with one sink and a full-width
mirror which is well-lit.  On the counter are 2 soaps, a shower cap,
and small bottles of lotion, shampoo, bath gel and "final rinse."  A
hair dryer hangs on the wall.

Aladdin  Room: 37?? posted 6/26/06

I decided to try and ask for a room upgrade to a strip view, something up
high.  I very politely told the lady behind the desk that I had been to
Vegas five times before and only once did I have a view of the strip from
Excalibur, but it was mostly the Airport, Tropicana, and MGM.  I mentioned
the other times I had Mountain or Valley views.  She offered a room on the
37th floor with a view from most of the Belagio fountains, to MGM/Mandalay
Bay.  Not bad for just asking.  I did not have to resort to the $20 trick as
a second attempt, but I was prepared to try it.  Actually, I was really just
glad they had a room available that early in the day as I didn't want to
have to haul my bags back downstairs to Valet.  Unlike other hotels I have
stayed at, the Aladdin does not have space to store bags near registration.

The 37th floor is the highest you can get to without a VIP key card.  Above
that is 50 and 51 (They must skip some floors)  The room had a King bed, a
table, a comfy chair, a desk, an armoir (no closet) with a locking safe that
held the laptop and a few other things.  The Bath had Marble floors and
Granite countertop, one sink, separate tub and shower, hair dryer and the
usual soaps and shampoos.  There were Planet Hollywood touches including a
painting from the third Raiders movie, one from the movie Ghost, and a skull
(prop) used in the Last Action Hero.  There was still little Aladdin touches
like the ring behind the shower handle which had the word Aladdin on it.  I
bet that will get changed out before the grand re-opening in December.  The
room was clean and stayed that way.  We tipped housekeeping a couple bucks
each day for thier nice work.

Room Pics: http://community.webshots.com/album/551922499qBsNZe
This link is to an album of pictures.  Start the slide show or click into
each as you go.  The windows were very dirty which affected the views
significantly.  I suppose this was from fallout of the recent implosion of
the Boardwalk and the construction across the street of the new MGM
property.

Non-smoking, central air conditioning, two queen beds, fabulous view of the
pools, The Paris and The Bellagio.  Although the bathroom did not have a lot
of marble, I would probably rate it as the nicest I have ever had.  It
featured dual counters (granite) and sinks, large and extra deep soaking
tub, compartmentalized commode, large shower with a seat!  The bathroom
floor was mostly marble, but oddly, a large square in the middle of the room
was carpeted.  Amenities included iron and ironing board, hair dryer, clock
radio, non-lighted portable makeup mirror.  Toiletries consisted of soap,
shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel, and a shower cap.  No sewing kit.
Very large entry area.  Bedroom area contained a comfortable sofa, coffee
table, writing desk, two centrally located windows, armoire with small
closet, six small drawers, 25" (or possibly 27") tube style television and
in-room safe.  Compared to the Deluxe room I had just visited, this was a
palace and I was extremely happy.

Bally's Room 7037

We just got back from Bally's, and we requested and received (with no tipping) a South Tower room, 20th floor, overlooking Paris/Eiffel Tower with a partial view of Bellagio/dancing fountains.  We verified our $29 room rate. We had room 7037, and were very pleased with the view.  I had asked for a King room (non-smoking), but ended up with two doubles (I think the clerk said they were queens but they sure looked like doubles to us!  We have a queen bed at home, so I think we know what they look like.)  However, I just loved the view so we decided to stick with it.  Maybe you can get a King room with the same view.  Every time the Bellagio fountains would go off, I sat in a chair by the window and took it all in. Ballys Room 1779

View of the strip north of Bally's( a bit of traffic-street noise), all the nice goodies in the bathroom, in room safe,  bigger that usual room, 2 chairs, table, and a sort of  sofa chair thing, TV (a must for the 16yr old) w/ enough channels. Over all not too bad, but a bit worn.Index

Bally's Room 1825

Bally's was wonderful!! We stayed in Room 1825 in the North Tower. The room was recently remodeled and was large, clean, and had a great view looking toward Flamingo, Venetian, etc. I scored a great rate for the rooms when I booked online using the Bally's website. Cost was $55 for Wed, Thur, and Sunday nights. $85 for Friday and Sat. Not too shabby, especially considering the Holyfield-Ruiz fight going on that weekend at Paris.Index

Bally's Room 2535 - Junior Suite
It was gorgeous, we had a direct view, dead on of the Bellagio and the
fountain show. In the distance you could see the Rio, and to the left was Paris and the Eiffel Tower and a also straight ahead, a beautiful sunset!!  It was big, with 2 queen beds, a couch, a desk with a telephone with a data port, and a big TV.  The closet was huge with a safe inside and an iron and ironing board.  This was one of the newly re-done rooms, and the bathroom was gorgeous with all new marble floor and counter, and fixtures, and a hairdryer.  It was really nice.  Close to the elevators and ice machine too! Bally's Room 2173/2139 posted 6/20/01

Stayed at Bally's, our first time there. We were very impressed. The remodeled rooms are really nice, the restaurants were good, casino was decent, service excellent. We booked back in March for $49 a night - it was a steal! Room included a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, safe ($3 per day if used, not each time it is accessed, as has been reported). Our room had two queen beds and in addition to all the standard furniture there was a nice desk with two chairs and a very large, comfortable easy chair. The bathroom was not Paris-level luxury but was very nice, with a large vanity and cubby holes offering plenty of room for all our stuff. Room 2173 had a decent view Northward. Friends in 2139 had a nice view of Bellagio, etc.  In Bally's casino I never saw any $5 blackjack, just $10 and up, which was OK with us. Occasionally they'd have a $5 craps table, usually $10 also. Always two $10 pai gow tables going, sometimes three our four. They didn't have enough shufflemasters to go around, so sometimes there was a pai gow table that was hand-shuffled. Time-consuming, which can be a plus I guess - but always seems unlucky for me. Always at least one mini-baccarat table, I think it was $10 in the day time and $25 in evenings. Their high- limit gaming area next to the Jubilee theater is pretty open to the rest of the casino, and features a really beautiful design on walls and ceiling which the dealer told us was by Versace. Amenities: 19" TV, chairs & table, 2 queen beds, standard bathroom gear
View: One could see the Paris hotel rooms, and the Bally's South tower - and between them was most of the Paris Eiffel Tower. Also had a great (ugly) view of the roof of the casino.
Other: The room was sufficient, but after staying at Caesar's, I was a bit disappointed. Granted the price is lower, but it just didn't impress me. It was a long trek to the Strip from the North tower. Index

Anyway, we were able to check into our room at 3:00. It was Room 6921 in the South Tower. EXCELLENT!!! Great view of the Eiffel Tower and Paris’ swimming pool. Was able to see about half of the Bellagio fountains, and when that was performing we could open up our window and hear the music too. The view at night was incredible. Our windows were a bit dirty but didn’t distort any view. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. Lots of mirrors in the bathroom. Very impressed with the bars of soap they gave us. I bet they were ¾ size of the ones used at home! Index

Ballys Room: 7233
Day:  Monday
Bally's now offers a 360 degree view of a typical 2-bedded room on their web site - worth doing before you go. Windows were a bit dirty on outside as I read here, but could see ½ of Bellagio fountain from our room #7233. Excellent. If for some reason you prefer North tower (set way back from strip but closer to MGM monorail and pool), stay away from the Flamingo Road side rooms - noisy. Index

Ballys Room: 1055 posted 9/25/01

We were in room 1055 at Bally's, which is in the North Tower (I think - they didn't make a big deal about towers). This room has 2 queen size beds with a bench at the end of each, a round table with 2 straight-back chairs, 2 additional chairs that were more for lounging around than sitting at the table. There was a chest of drawers, with 9 medium size drawers in a 3x3 arrangement. Overall, it was a nice size for 3 people, we certainly weren't even close to cramped. There was a safe in the closet, but the charge was $3/day for use. Also stored in the closet were a luggage stand, ironing board, and iron. There were 2 bottles of water in the bathroom - I think they were the 1.5 liter size, although I didn't look; at $4.50 each, we weren't about to open them.  This was on a no smoking floor. There was a hair dryer in the bathroom (which had a shower/tub combination, rather than separate or shower-only), but there was no coffee pot provided (which we missed having)

Being on the 10th floor, there was a bit of a view from the window. The room faces west. The lower half of the view was cut off by the roof of a lower portion of Bally's, and the left side by one of the towers at Paris. We were able to see part of Bellagio, across the street, and could see *PART* of the fountain show - when they were shooting up into the air high enough to clear the roofline of that lower roof. We had a good view of Bally's skyway access ramp area, which is sort of an enclosed walkway that's lit up with changing colors and flashing lights at night. There was a good view down Flamingo of Rio and of 2 of the buildings belonging to Cesaer's Palace. And, of course, the mountains. A room a bit closer to the elevator lobby (in our wing, the first room off the lobby was 1037), would have had a less obstructed view. Housekeeping gave us new towels to replace the used ones every day, but they only make your bed when they do the room. No fresh sheets unless you request it. I wasn't the one dealing with the hotel bill, as it was all paid for in advance, but I think we did pay an energy charge. Index

Ballys Room: 1168 posted 9/13/02

Bally's check in was fantastic. Had originally booked thru Ballys for $49, but then received a $39 rate for booking with American Express card through Orbitz. For $39 it was a STEAL!!! Received room 1168 (11th floor - non smoking floor) in the tower that is closer to the shops and Sports Book (I don't remember if it was North or South tower, but it's not the one on the strip). I originally received a room in the other tower, but she said they have not all been renovated yet, so I got a renovated room in the "Sports Book" tower. This was the LARGEST basic room I have ever been in. Great furnishings, little office area, very nice bathroom with tub... all in all a great room. View of the self-park garage... but I could care less. Also nice since you get morning sun in the room.

Bally's Room: 7107 South Tower posted 3/26/03

It took us a while to figure out the numbering system of the hotel. My room had a decent view of the strip, including the Bellagio fountains. I could also at times hear the music that went with the fountain show. Overall, the room was very large and clean. My friend and I both got rooms with two queens rather than a king as we had requested. no big deal in our case. The bathroom was very large with a separate partitioned area for the toilet. It was not too fancy, but was large and clean. The shower seemed a bit worn in terms of its plumbing and even though there was plenty of hot water, the diverter valve was a little screwy and I lost some pressure to the tub spout as it always ran a little bit even when I was using the shower. The TV in the room looked to be a 25 inch model. I watched TV only for a few minutes of CNN very late at night to catch up on the coming war. However, if you're into watching TV in Vegas, there looked to be about 20 channels, including locals. The only other comment about the room is that it was really quiet late at night even when a lot of stuff was still going on in the hotel and on the street.

Bally's Room: 2133 North Tower posted 8/16/03

The suite, room 2133 is on the side of the North Tower looking directly out onto Flamingo. There are views of the Flamingo, Caesar's and Bellagio, at least from an angle.

The room is a sort of Junior suite on steroids. It has one large room with a separate seating area that includes a sofa, coffee table, easy chair and footrest. The TV is large, 27" I guess. The bathroom is raised up two steps and enormous. It has a horse shoe design with a hot tub in the middle. On the left side of the horse shoe is the boy's side of the bathroom and it includes a vanity sink and tons of lotion, shampoo, bath gel, mouthwash, etc. There's also a large closet and the water closet which has a toilet and telephone. Oh yes, it's all marble flooring. In about dead center of the horse shoe is a moderately large stall shower. It has enough room for two with a decent size shelf for putting your bath gel and stuff on. As you go past the shower toward the girl's side of the room, there is another closet containing a bidet. This is how we determined the boy's vs. the girl's side! She also has a large vanity with a seat and brightly lighted mirror. Also, there is another closet.  Other stuff in the room includes the usual iron and board, but no coffee maker.

Bally's Room 6637 South Tower posed 9/27/03

We had a perfect view of the Paris pool , Eiffel Tower and Bellagio Fountains. We only could not see the far right end of the fountains. Check in was simple and I checked out via the key drop off. The only complaint I have is how far the pool is from the South Tower.I do understand most casino pools are far far away though. You have to walk through the casino and the shopping area to get to the pool. Everyday there were ample lounge chairs, great waitresses and the pool itself was clean and DEEP..yeah! Nice comfy towels and raft rentals also. Oh another complaint--the ice machine on the 16th. floor did not work until the day before we left..:( so we went to 15 to get ice.

Bally's Room 6837 South Tower posted 2/8/04

Our  South Tower room 6837 was located almost at the end of the hall, a pretty good distance from the elevator. The carpeting in the room while not completely worn was older and of a cheap quality. The bathroom while large and clean was showing signs of wear and tear. The shower door was almost falling apart. The 4 inch tile with the 1/4 inch grout on the floor looked a little silly and outdated. There were plenty of mirrors which made the good sized bathroom seem even larger. The usual amenities like a facial and body bar, along with shampoo, conditioner and a shower cap were available. A hair dryer for those with a full head of hair was conveniently installed on the wall near the left side of a fairly large single vanity.

Back in the room was a small table and 2 chairs. We had 2 queen beds because there was no King available when we checked in. The TV was a good sized 27 inch unit that had a WEB-TV like keyboard interface. There was also a data port for a computer. They charged 9.99 per day, or 5.99 for 2 hours for those who just have to post messages on AVLV or surf the web while on their Las Vegas vacation. There was a good sized closet with wooden "hotel" hangers, as well as a hotel safe which you could use for a 3.00 per day charge. There was also a long vanity table with plenty of drawer space.

The best thing about the room was the view. We had a view of Paris and Aladdin next door, as well as most of the Bellagio and the water show. Viewing the show from the 18th floor offers a different perspective which allows you to really appreciate how synchronized the fountains really are. Amazingly, we were able to hear the music from the show which was nice. Unfortunately, it also allowed us to hear some sewer work that amazingly was going on at 2 in the morning. Francine had called the front desk to complain, but what was Bally's going to do about it? It was most obviously an emergency situation, and if it involved sewage.......The front desk DID offer to change our room to the one across the hall, but we were already settled in to our 6837 already.

Bally's Room 1672 North Tower posted 3/20/04

The room was very large and well-appointed. It had two queen beds and was nonsmoking. The view was nothing much, mainly planes going in and out of the airport and one side of the MGM. The room was, however, extremely quiet. Something that was always welcome after 16- 8 hours of activity in and around the casinos. The bathroom was large with a tub-shower combo and a separate partitioned area for the toilet.  Towels were a little sparse. If I had been in the room with someone else, I definitely would have had to call for more. For example, the shelf over the tub had only 1 bath towel. $5 left as a tip on the first day resulted in no improvement in the way things were stocked.
In the room itself, there was a small desk as well as a large table with a phone and broadband connection at $9.95 per day. I used it for keeping up with work and it worked fine. I had download speeds of around 400k. Other stuff in the room included to comfortable club chairs and matching footrests. Very nice for hanging out if one wanted to.

Bally's Room 1804 North Tower posted 7/30/04

I requested a room near the elevator in the North Tower and was given
1804.  It was in fact, near the elevator.  It was, however, a handicap room.
This was a mixed blessing.  It was a very large room with ample room for a
wheelchair (I don't use one) between and around the beds, etc.  I didn't
like the bathroom very much.  Because of the configuration to permit a
wheelchair to get close to the toilet, there was somewhat reduced counter
space compared with other Bally's rooms.  Also, the shower was just a
roll-in shower.  I don't use a tub, but the shower head here could come off
its wall bracket and be used by hand.  There was a bench in the shower if
one wanted or needed to sit while using the handheld sprayer.  I kept the
sprayer on the wall and raised it to its maximum height, about even with the
top of my head, I'm 6' tall.  The shower floor is just about flush with the
main bathroom floor.  There was an auxiliary drain in the middle of the
bathroom, but I still seemed unable to prevent myself from making a wet mess each time I used the thing.
I could have requested another room, I suppose, but this one was well
located and for me, the room is primarily a place to sleep.  As long as the
shower is clean and gets me clean, I can deal with it for a few days.
Still, I do not recommend this room unless you actually require one
configured in this way.

Bally's Room 1804 posted 3/30/05

My room 7125 was NOT on the 71st floor, as I had hoped. Bally's doesn't
even have 71 floors. Or even 50. This is some weird numbering scheme they
use to make the hotel appear bigger, I guess. An old man on the elevator
confirmed my suspicion by commenting to his wife that their room was on the
68th floor.

Here's a photo taken from the window of my room. It looks pretty good
considering that the window was filthy on the outside.

http://urbanphotos.net/march2005TR/ballyview.jpg

Barbary Coast Room 404

4th floor non-smoking, one king bed.  Nice view of the Bellagio fountains and the Eiffel Tower.  Second-to-last room on the hall farthest from the elevator - a bit of a hike.  The furniture contained a king bed with brass headboard; marble-topped nightstands on either side of the bed, both with lamps, one with a phone; a chair; a dresser with a 27" (I think) TV on top; a desk and chair; but no telephone jack near.  Nominally separated from the sleeping area by a tied-back curtain as you walk towards the window was a sitting area with a table and chairs.  The air conditioner was a window unit, controlled by a wall thermostat.  The window wasn't supposed to open far, but we got it nearly all the way open.  It opens onto a faux balcony that you are not supposed to walk on, as it is hollow.  The bathroom is separated into a closet/sink area and a tub/toilet area.  There is a small stained glass window in the tub area that you can open a bit, presumably in lieu of a vent fan.  Toiletries included a small and large bar of normal-scented French milled soap, minty mouthwash, almond-scented shampoo/conditioner mix, almond scented lotion, and bath gelee (didn't open it to smell it).  The tub is standard size; not a soaking tub.

There are no Coke machines in the hotel.  There was an ice maker right by the elevator.  There was not an alarm clock or any sort of radio in the room.  I didn't notice a smoky smell in the room.  No safe, coffee maker, ironing board, etc.

Positives: very close access from self- or valet parking to your room, short trip from your room to the casino, restaurants, or the strip. Fantastic location on the strip, with walkways to Bally's and Caesar's on that corner.  Nice, large room - both nicer and much larger than I had anticipated.  Quick, easy check-in.  Turn-down service at night if there's nothing on the bed.

Negatives: lots of street noise - do not stay here if you're a light sleeper, as road work and sirens sound like they're in the room with you.  Casino is small; a mixed blessing, as it's easy to get to know the dealers, but there's not much variety.

View: Faced North.  Overlooked the Flamingo ventilation system.  Not a good view at all.
Other: Positives: Great location at a good price.  Room was large and comfortable.  Style was what I would consider turn of the century chic - my buddy said it was Old West whorehouse motif.  Bathroom was a little on the small side, but was OK.  Small stained glass window in bathroom that opened.  Free shuttle service to the Orleans and Gold Coast and back was great for a large group (7).  Saved a lot on cabs.  Being a small casino, it was easy to find everything.  Also, got some good coupons for free drinks and match play.  At least one, sometimes three $5 craps tables were open.  Drinks were relatively prompt, although the beers were small.  Housekeeping was very prompt - room was made up by 10 am each day.  However, when the Do Not Disturb sign was in the lock, we were not bothered.
Negatives: Definitely not as fancy as other places on the Strip.  Noisy, especially with the construction going on at Caesars.  Early each morning the heavy construction equipment would start.  Every time one would back up - beep  beep  beep.  Like having an alarm clock go off all morning long.  Definitely annoying.
Overall:  Although the location was good, because of the noise, I'd probably stay somewhere else.

moved to 226, a much better room (king bed side), with a view oif the

Room 202 was completely renovated and had a huge plasma tv and a
comfortable king size bed. I´m no big fan of the decor, but the rooms
aren´t as dark as they used to be any more. This was the first time I
had trouble with noise at the BC. Traffic was louder than I
remembered, there was quite a lot of siren activity and even the
Fountains were pretty loud. My wife was in a very forgiving mood and
didn´t mind at all (the first night). The noise was in part due to the
fact that this is one of the lowest rooms which is nearest to the
intersection. The view was the best you can get from the BC, but was
somewhat obstructed by a transparent ad (that promptly disappeared two
days after we had checked out). New sleeker toilettries (a brand I
didn´t know).

Bellagio  Suite 33022 - A room with a View.

The whole place is about 1800 sq. ft. It is REALLY NICE... as you walk into the foyer, there are inlaid marble floors, brown in the center, with off white on the outside, leading into a light yellow carpet, with a brown trellis pattern, to the right is a half bath, to the left,  a wet bar with a refrigerator with an ice maker, the bar top has bottled water, an ice bucket and bar tools, there are plenty of storage cupboards and drawers; in front of the bar are two tall yellow and coral upholstered bar stools.

Walking straight from the foyer takes you into the living room; there is a couch covered in a light yellow material, so soft, I just sink down into it...2 large easy chairs, they look like low thrones...hubby calls them “big butt” chairs...:-)...they are done in a coral colored velvet, a huge coffee table and 2 end tables with lamps.  In front of the couch,  taking up one wall is an entertainment center with a TV, VCR, CD player and fax machine.   All the furniture is...Italian Provincial...of course.
Behind the couch is a writing desk, with a 2 line phone and a reading lamp.  The drawer is stocked with Bellagio stationery, note cards and pens...well at least it was when we got there… On to the next area which is the dining room, a big table, with four arm chairs,  and a buffet taking up one wall, a massive crystal chandelier hangs over the marble topped table.   We now enter through a door into the bedroom.  There is a king size bed, a 5 drawer armoire housing a TV, 2 night stands with lamps and an easy chair and table... with a floor lamp.   Between the bathrooms stands another 5 drawer dresser... yes... there were two bathrooms.  The lady’s bathroom had a makeup table with a lighted makeup mirror, and a hairdryer... a big closet with lots of hangers, a beautiful robe and slippers, an iron and ironing board,  and a safe.

The marble vanity had a 10 inch colored TV with remote, there were lots of linens stocked underneath.  The amenities consisted of good sizes of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, mouthwash, wooden handled razor, shaving gel, hairspray, toothpaste and toothbrush, a sewing kit and a shower cap...what... no Q-Tips?   Taking up the back wall is a two person Jacuzzi tub with 6 jets, bathsalts, soaps and a loofah.  To the left in the rear,  is a separate room with a bidet, the commode,  and a wall telephone.  Across the hall is the man’s bathroom.  There is a closet, with robe and slippers,  a dresser with 5 drawers, same vanity set-up,  TV, and amenities.  The shower is huge;  with the push of a button, it becomes a sauna and...there is a marble bench for sitting... or...ladies take note...shaving your legs . (I wish they would put this in all showers...are you listening architects?)
But... I have saved the best for last...in the living room and in the bedroom, on the wall, are buttons to control the blackout drapes and sheers... with a push of a button, whoosh.... they are open, revealing Paris...the Eiffel Tower and Balloon across the street and the brilliant fountain show below.  It was a dream room. www.geocities.com/suiteeeee

Bellagio Room 4101 posted 11/25/01

Check in was instantaneous, nobody in line. Got a king/nonsmoking, room 4101, in the West Wing <insert Rob Lowe joke here>. No view, but I didn't care; plus the low floor meant quick elevator trips. Nice and spacious, and quiet. I did notice the carpet had a stain next to the card table and a bedside light bulb was out. They've added autodetecting mini bars since I last stayed there. I also noticed an ethernet RJ-45 port behind the desk. Didn't have a laptop on me to try it out, but I'd heard they were wiring for broadband. Safe was closed up, and I was carrying more cash than I wanted to keep on me. Made a call, it was fixed in 10 minutes. Wife went to bed, I hit the tram to try for an early win at Monte Carlo. Index

Bellagio Room 21016 posted 7/12/02

Could have had rooms free (or nearly free) at the Trop (my "dive" hangout) but paid the $129/night for a Lakeview room.  Got room 21016, and it was terrific.  The room was beautifully appointed, and had a great view of the strip and of course, those fountains.  The elevator groupings were 28+,  27-21, 20-13, 4-12 so keep this in mind if short elevator rides matter to you.  Never waited more than one minute for an elevator.

Bellagio Room 16-014 posted 12/5/02

Front and center and high above the fountain show, room was beautiful, Mrs. was very pleased, found that they play the music for the fountain show on the TV! Neat. I cannot add much to the description here: Bellagio room report 11/22/98  except for the description of the water pressure, I found it quite adequate, and I am a bit picky about that. The other negatives were all valid, the positives I agree with as well. The room was very clean, except I found greasy handprints on the window, annoying when I watched the fountain show that I had to clean the window myself! I found everything in line with what I would normally get in a 5 star hotel room, but the TV channel selection is lacking. Index

Dates:           7/23-7/26

Agency:  Booked through Hotel
Amenities: King size bed, mini-bar, nice bath. The typical Bellagio Room. Check out their website for pictures of the room.
View: The room had a view of the fountains and then looked towards downtown. Paris was across the street and you could see the volcano at the Mirage. From the 26th Floor, the view was outstanding.
Other: The hotel was sold out when I arrived and they were going to give me a room with the view of the freeway. I told the woman at reception I would appreciate an upgrade. She said they were sold out and that nothing else was available. I told her to look again and held out two $20s. Suddenly a great room was available at no extra charge. It was worth the $40 for four days for the view. Turn down service was nice. Water pressure was great in shower and tub!

Bellagio Room: 28010 posted 4/2/04

On Sunday we moved to the Bellagio, which still remains my favorite place to stay in Vegas.  We used the $139 lakeview email offer. Alas, they have switched to regular room key cards like everyone else instead of the little gold keys they used to have.  We were in Room 28010 (28th floor, king, non-smoking) which was quite spacious, with a beautiful view of the fountains, Paris, Bally's, and Aladdin. We were angled to be facing slightly north, so you could see TI, Venetian, and the Stratosphere. We couldn't see the Mirage itself, but we could watch the volcano eruption, which was kind of cool.  They had renovated the room since our last visit, and it was really something else.  It's a little more austere, with darker beige and taupe colors, two very heavy chairs and table (I felt sorry for the maids having to move that stuff), a gigantic dark wood armoire with flat screen TV, two lighted closets, ironing board, etc.  The safe is in a little cabinet on the side of the armoire.   The desk has a data port built into the side.  The bathroom was about the same as before, with separate shower and marble tub, but with a new wood and marble vanity and new faucets.  The requisite shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and mouthwash were unchanged.  There was some construction noise, but it was pretty minimal and never when we were trying to sleep. Bellagio, West Wing, Room 11099 posted 6/27/05

Non-smoking, King

We'd never stayed at the B before, but I can say that I was impressed
with their regular rooms. Very spacious. Large armoir with flat screen
TV and a safe that took me five minutes to find.
The servi-bar was filled with the most expensive snacks and drinks you
could imagine. $4 for a bag of chips??? For those unfamiliar with
servibars, if you move an item you have purchased it---sensors. We
locked it for good.

The bed was delicious with four soft pillows. Bedside controls for the
lights and drapes. Lots of space. The bathroom had a large soaking tub,
which is always appreciated after all the walking and standing at craps
tables. Very large separate shower. Only one sink, which was
surprising. All in all, very much like the regular rooms at Paris, but
seemingly twice as large and commodious. View of Caesars across the
street and Rio far down to the west.

Bellagio Lakeview Room - two nights - casino rate $149/night - Room 28036:
We finished our stay at the Bellagio.  We initially had just a regular room
booked, but managed to sweet talk the desk clerk into upgrading us to the
Lake View.  I would have been happy to pay for it, since I really like
watching the fountains from the room, but the hotel was apparently totally
booked.  The desk clerk was really nice, though, and managed to work it out
for us.  We tipped her $20 at the end (not really a $20 trick situation -
she helped us out of the goodness of her heart).  Anyway, the room was the
standard Bellagio room, very nice.  Not as big as the rooms at the Wynn.
The colors were the "New Vegas" beiges, browns, and blacks.  The new
wallpaper in the renovated bathroom doesn't look quite right with the tile.
The view was of the fountains, Paris/Bally's, and North up the Strip.  This
room is almost at the very end of the hallway, so I wouldn't suggest it if
you want to be close to the elevator.  This room was in the original tower,
not the new spa tower.

Caesars Palace Room 508 Palace Tower

Large room, probably around 600-700 sq ft.  2 Queen Beds, Mini Refrigerator, large double sink bathroom, large Jacuzzi bathtub, hair dryer, clock radio, makeup mirror,  room safe.  Ice, vending machines 1 minute down the hall. Huge windows (don't open) that face south strip, Paris, MGM.  Obstructed view of pool ( a few floors higher and the view would have been great with binoculars.)
First time staying at Caesars.  Originally had Roman tower room with 3pm check-in.  Room was not going to be ready until five so they upgraded me without charge or me asking to a palace tower room.  Newer and larger,  it will be worth the money on future visits.  A little mix up with our bags being delivered to our room by the bell desk but was straightened out in 20 minutes.  These rooms are about a five minute to from the casino.  Never a wait for an elevator in the palace tower section and no noise heard from other rooms.  They were able to move checkout time from 11 to 2 pm with no hassle  and kept our bags at the bell desk until our flight left that night.  Very efficient staff all through hotel.  Also comped my guest and myself  dinner my last night there just for asking about signing up for a gaming rate card.  This is a great hotel by reputation and delivered.  I have stayed other places but I will make Caesers my only choice for future visits.  Also the craps dealers!!
were some of the coolest folks I have had the pleasure of gambling with anywhere in town.Index

Caesars, Room 391, Roman Tower posted 11/11/01
I kept changing our hotel reservations, was getting lots of offers and needed 6 nights total, 2 weeks before leaving I got e-mail from Caesars offering 1 night for $69 and one night free, also $25 food credit. Well that was all it took, when my son and I saw Rainman we knew it would be CP for his 21st bday, and it was here. I called them immediately and booked a room for 3 nights. When we checked in at 1PM, they had rooms ready in the Roman Tower, right off the main casino, yes we'll take it. I know the rooms are nicer in the Palace Tower, we stayed in one, but I had to carry a map everywhere I went and kept getting lost. 3rd floor, no smoking, King, had them send a rollaway for son, no charge. This is after all, Rome!!! Room 391, not to long of a walk, quiet, view of roof and other rooms from window, could at least see the sky. The room was not to big, double sink right off entry, marble, with lots of Caesars soap, lotion and etc. Separate room with tub, toilet and shower. The door to this room is hard to describe, all glass, like a shower door, with frosting on inside (can't see in), but there is about 1 inch close to outer edge of glass that is clear, sort of weird. The door squeaked each time it was opened, funny. Oval soaking tub with marble surround, 1 person size. Shower with black tile, sort of reflective, shelf ledge with mirror behind. My son like that and shaved in shower! He thinks that would be a good feature for his bath at home!!! Three showerheads, high, med, low, can be operated separately. Of course the water did not drain and it slowly crept up your foot!!! What does it take to make these things drain right!!! There was an exhaust fan that only circulated air in the room, why bother. Three sets of towels and washcloths.

Room had King bed, 2 night tables, alarm clock, 3 way light bulbs, small tv, probably 19 inch in a beautiful wood cabinet with 3 drawers below. There was a desk with 2 chairs and a small fainting type couch. We ordered a rollaway for #3 and everything fit. The air conditioning was on the wall, no temp settings, just fiddle with it. Noticed the filter in the ceiling was really dirty and the room a little smelly of smoke, called housekeeping and they replaced the filter, guy said he checked the database and this one had not been changed for 7 months!!!!! It was really dirty, was much better after change. He was so nice, would not take a tip. There was a small closet with safe on the floor that worked with any card that had a magnetic strip on the back, my son locked it with his college id!! We thought this was pretty cool and everyone got a turn locking and unlocking, cute!! An interactive game in the closet!! Carpet was a dark beige, short weave, no big stains or burns. The bed was comfortable, of course they had to change the feather pillows. I liked the room and would stay there again.  Index

Caesars, Room 1299, Roman Tower posted 1/28/02

We had room 1299 of the Roman Tower, but found out that it was at the end of the hall and only about 20 feet to the Forum Tower elevators.  Booked through an e-mail offer (not sure if it was from signing up on Caesars.com or from having an Emperor's Club card) for $89/night including a $25 meal credit.  Mainly looked out on the Centurion tower, but could see a bit of the strip and the Flamingo tower.  If I craned my neck all the way to the right, I could see some of the Via Bellagio (didn't notice if I could see the top of the Fountain Show, but didn't specifically look either).  The room was about 350 square feet including the bathroom (at least 20% of the space).  Room featured a king bed, psychoanalyst-style lounger/couch, funky-looking marble coffee table, writing desk, tv armoire.  Bathroom had a separate tub and shower, the tub had a shower nozzle, too, but no jets.  Shower had three nozzles for that extra clean feeling. Extension phone in the bathroom and two sinks.   Got two kinds of soap, shampoo/conditioner, bath lotion, body lotion, cotton, q-tips and the grand prize sewing kit.    Bad points of the room:  needed a credit card for the safe, not enough counter space in the bathroom (taken up by there being two sinks), and the fact that the tv was only 20 inches. Caesars, Room 2727, Palace Tower posted 5/13/2002

We decided to take a smoking room, and got the 27th floor (room 2727). Except for the bathroom (which had the 2-person Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, dual vanity, and magnifying pull-out mirror -- it was quite nice), the room was not any bigger or better than what you can get in Ballys. We had the top deck of a parking garage (way) beneath us, but also had a good view of the Mirage pool area and the volcano. This room was right next to the elevators, but we never heard any noise from them. There was no noise in the hallways, either. At 3:00 AM one night, we did hear our neighbors going at it, though. Fortunately (for us, at least), it only lasted a couple of minutes and we could go back to sleep.

The Jacuzzi, however, was not in the middle of the room and there were no overhead mirrors. Oh, well!  I could learn to live with it, LOL.  We were very pleased by the efforts of the front desk clerk.  I went back downstairs to thank the clerk (this was a second girl taking over for the first).  I gave her another $20.  She accepted, but very reluctantly.  Our room was three doors from the elevator and right next to the ice and soft-drink room. Very convenient.

The man's BR was a single sink with a toilet room with phone. It had a door to the double shower, which had another door to the lady's BR, which had a bigger counter and a very nice jacuzzi tub big enough for two. The bedroom was very niced sized with another armoir with at least a 27" TV and internet connections ($9.95/day). The living portion was also very large. Non-smoking king; comped.

Large entry hallway with bathroom to the left and closet with safe (had
a hard time finding the sucker) and two very nice robes. Marble floors
in the hallway and bath, carpet elsewhere.

Bath was gigantic. Larger than Venetian, though similar. Huge shower
stall. Very nice large Jacuzzi tub with great jets. The jacuzzi had a
funny automatic feature to it that made it turn on and off if the water
level dropped a little. Had a hard time finding the button. Two sinks.
Beautiful plasma TV mounted in the bathroom, which is always nice in
the mornings. Large room for the commode.

The bedroom had a wall of furniture including a desk, a large mini-bar
filled with outrageously priced goodies, and a dresser. A large mounted
plasma TV which swiveled. Think I'm going to visit Circuit City real
soon.

The bed was luxuriously soft, as were the pillows. Large couch, table
with two chairs by the window, and another lounge chair. Had to be
close to 700 sq ft.

My wife felt like it was the nicest regular room we'd ever stayed at in
Vegas, and I agreed.

all.  It was a nice walk from the elevator, but offered nice view of pools
and Bellagio fountains. (see pics)  The bed was super comfortable (we may
have to buy a new mattress for the house), flat screen tv, double shower,

King, Non-smoking

LOVED this room. Although it was just like we had remembered from a
previous trip, it still was very pleasing. Large entry hall with a wall
of closets to the left enclosing clothes closets, in-room safe room,
ironing board. Off to the right was a bathroom that would be very
acceptable for almost any home. Two person jacuzzi tub for my tired
dogs. Two sinks in a long counter. Marble everywhere. Separate shower
and toilet rooms. Tremendous water power. Every ammenity you could
expect.

Only problem with the Palace and Augustus towers is the long long walk
to the elevators.

Flat screen TV in the bedroom, which was very sizeable. Glorious bed
and pillows. The decor is like pictures I have seen of the Wynn, but
much more subdued with lighter browns and biases. The wife wants to
redecorate OUR bedroom now for sure. Warning re-servibar: Don't touch
or you've bought it. Large couch under the window which faced Bellagio
and overlooks at least four pools which foolish people were suffocating
in.

I´m not too good in describing rooms, but I`m going to try here
because we liked the room so much and I´m sitting at the desk looking
out across the Central Strip right now as I type this at 5 a.m. The
room is at the very end of the hallway, sharing a door with abigger
suite (3452). After that door, you enter some kind of smallish
vestibule with the two doors of the two rooms. Upon entering, there is
another anteroom (?) with a walk-in closet and the best mini-bar I´ve
seen. Straight ahead is the bathroom with a huge jacuzzi tub and
walk-in shower and a plasma tv. All the usual amenities, plus the
mother lode according to Cheapovegas, a sewing kit, 2 small bottles of
Scope, a vanity kit, and a toothbrush plus Colgate toothpaste. No
additonal tv in the toilet, though.

The main room has views in two directions, due to its position at the
end of the hallway. There is the aforementioned view towards the IP,
Harrah´s and the Venetian down to the Strat and a bit of downtown.
There´s also a view down Flamingo, which is pretty nice in itself. In
the distance, the mountains can be seen very clearly which my mife
liked most of all (me, I like those pretty blinking lights).

http://thomas-w-lv.tripod.com/las_vegas_2006/Caesars_2.jpg
http://thomas-w-lv.tripod.com/las_vegas_2006/Caesars10.jpg

Apart from the very comfortable beds (two pretty big queens, into one
of which both of us fit quite nicely), there was a comfortable sofa,
three chairs, a couch table with a touch screen phone (pretty cool)
and the desk I mentioned. Huge plasma tv on the wall. As I´m writing
this, my wife is waking up, muttering something like "ermglbs, 100
year Grand Marnier". More on that later.

Though it didn´t bother us in the least, there was some wear and tear
in the room. The wallpaper was a bit frayed over the jacuzzi, one lamp
was missing, there was a stain on one of the chairs - minor stuff, but
curious in one of the finer rooms of the city which can't be older
than a year or two. I really liked the pictures on the wall, though.
All in all, this was a decoration scheme much more to my liking than
the Venetian´s.

Of course we had to check out the jacuzzi and after a foam frenzy, our
friends came over to gawk.
