Venetian
Room 36116
Smoking: Yes (room didn't smell like it at all, so I didn't)
King Size Rialto Suite(?) (not a regular suite or room at the V)
Negative Side: The north view of the strip is not much to brag about, but at
the V it's probably one of the better views. Strange air vents on the window
sill were covered with scotch tape, and gusts of wind sounded like thunder
(and no, I'm not on medication). Servi bar had sensors in it, so that even
if you moved the contents, you'd get charged! No big screen or la-z boy in
sight! Positive Side: The elevators were quick and efficient. The room was
massive, with it's own bar with TWO TVs above it. Incredible bathroom, with
his/her vanities, Jacuzzi tub and separate shower and a boat load of toiletries/amenities (including slippers and robes). Comfy bed with fluffy
pillows. Great furnishings. Safe in room, along with full sized ironing
board and iron! North view of strip afforded views of Desert Inn and a great
view of Treasure Island and the pirate battle. Index

Room 25137
king size/smoking room (25137). This room
was miles from the elevator and had a good view of many parking lots and the
airport off in the distance. Even though the rooms are nice (for those
of you who haven't read a report on the V rooms - they're huge with a separate
living room area, 2-27" televisions {living and bedroom area}, separate
tub and shower with enclosed toilet area, double sinks, vanity with make-up
mirror, blow drier, in room safe, iron, etc.) I still like Paris
better. Index

Room 31103
We were in room 31103, facing southwest with a
view of the Venetian parking garage and Harrah's tower. In the distance you
could see Bellagio (but not the fountains), the Eiffel tower, the Flamingo
pool area, and the MGM theme park in the distance. If you could break the
window and stick your head out you'd be able to see the Mirage volcano. Index

Very Large room with King bed, Huge bathroom with soaking tub, Beautiful
granite, marble, very elegant carpeting and marble floors, nice makeup
table and mirror in the bathroom. Pool and Treasure Island Pirate battle,
and Downtown in the distance...Great view, although we could hear the live
band at the pool in our room, no big deal though! Very Very nice room,
tasteful decor, had printer/fax in room, the TV had few channels, Bathroom
was not very bright. Colors were golds, yellows and navy blue. Really
enjoyed our stay at the Venetian Index

Booked the room one day in advance at Travelocity.com
Amenities: Only there for one night, so didn't get to explore too much,
but the Grand Lux cafe (24 hr cafe) was an excellent value, the sandwiches
are HUGE for about 9 bucks. Great shopping, gorgeous canal
atmosphere View: Had view of pools (boring) and Treasure Island,
impressive. Great customer service, the staff was incredibly
friendly, especially at check-in. Received assorted comps, the
check-in boy said it was because we were only there for one night, from
Florida. Of course, it was election night, so we were teased
mercilessly about the Palm Beach county screw up! Index

Room 33-234 posted 10/15/01
When we got to the Venetian, Jay and
Jolene had just finished breakfast. They invited us up to the room while
they got their stuff together. They were staying in room 33-234 which
afforded them a Southeast view looking over the Maxim hotel and one of the
runways at McCarran. We’ve never stayed in one of the “regular”
rooms at the Venetian, since we lucked into an upgrade last time we were
there. Maybe it’s my imagination but the rooms don’t seem quite as
large as the regular rooms at the Rio. And, like the Rio, the rooms really
aren’t suites by definition, although you have to go down two steps into
the “living area”. The rooms are very nicely appointed with high
quality furnishings and the entire room has a very warm feeling to it. The
bathroom all decked out in marble is definitely an upgrade from the Rio,
and is almost nicer than most suites at upscale hotels in any other city.
Jay really appreciated the data port, and the Venetian provided a printer
for him as well. I chided him for doing work on his vacation, but I guess
you can’t lose that competitive edge. Index

Every door says "Suite" on it,
to make sure you know you're in a suite. The sign on my door said
"Suite 15-321", which is a smoking room, which although I don't
smoke, I selected in case I decided to start smoking.
It really is NOT a suite, it's just an extra big room that looks like two
rooms. Like the Rio's basic suites. There's the bed area like any other
hotel, with a dresser, TV, night tables; then two steps down is a
"living room area" with a small couch, some chairs, a table, and
another dresser with ANOTHER TV. I guess a lot of people come to Las
Vegas to watch TV... why else would there be TWO of them in the room? Next
to the TV is the tricky refrigerator and drawer with snacks. A standard
size bag of M&Ms is $3. A can of Heineken is $4.50. But it shows up on
your bill as $5.20. Must be the tax and and extra service charge. Index

Agency: DIRECTLY THROUGH THE VENETIAN
Amenities: Two queen beds with sleeper sofa in the "living
room". Sleeper sofa was surprisingly comfortable for sleeping.
Shampoo, lotion, conditioner, two bathrobes in bathroom. Large
bathroom with tub, separate shower, 2 sinks and a vanity with lighted
make-up mirror and blow dryer. Separate toilet room.
View: View of rooftop of Venetian Shops. In the distance a golf
course and the Las Vegas Hilton. Not the greatest view at all.
Other: Room was the last one from the elevator at the end of hall.
After walking all over Vegas, seemed like miles to the room only to have
to go all the way back to get ice. Loved the room but would NOT
recommend the location. Index

Agency: Direct with hotel
Amenities: I stayed at the Venetian for the first time this week. I've
stayed at all the other top LV hotels (Bellagio numerous times, Four
Seasons, Mirage, Mandalay Bay, etc) and this is my take on Venetian.
First the negatives:
1) Water pressure in the shower was poorer than any hotel I can remember
staying in, including economy class hotels (high rise hotels have varying
water pressures from one floor to the next, and there are pressure pumps
which raise the pressure every 8-10 floors or so. We were on 29th floor,
so maybe this is just a bad floor). 2) The shower had black mildew in all
the grout on the floor, which I hate. 3) Lots of stains on
carpet/furniture, and black marks on most of the walls/doors. Several
frayed edges on couch corners etc. Just gave the room a cheap, worn look
and feel. 4) Mattress was very mediocre quality. Like I'd expect in, say,
a Radisson or airport Hilton.
5) Sheets were pretty cheap quality. 6) Pillows were the WORST!! I mean
$2.00 quality all foam postage stamp size pillows. All the same style and
size. 7) The furniture was decent but not expensive. More on a par with
that at Paris and Mirage than Bellagio. 8) Carpet was pretty worn and
dirty looking. Definitely will need replacing soon. 9) No turn down
service. 10) Really substandard housekeeping. Shreds of paper and
junk on the floor, and long hairs in the sink, when we checked in. No one
cleaned the paper from the floor the whole 3 days we were there! Which
means no one vacuumed. Unacceptable.
The
positives: 1) Largest standard size rooms in LV at 650 sq ft. 2) Nice
marble bathrooms with separate tub and shower. Separate small WC
room. 3) 2 full size TV's in room, full size sofa, 2 lounge chairs,
table and 3 standard chairs around table, all located in 'living area'
(the 'sunken living room' which is a foot below the 'bedroom'). 4)
Convenient access to the shops and food in the hotel retail area. 5)
Pretty good location on the strip, across from Mirage and Treasure Island,
only a block from Fashion Show Mall. Index

posted 3/11/03 I
made some small talk with the guy at check in. He was nice.
the line was short since it was pretty late for a check in. I asked
about a late check out but he said that they wouldn't be able to do that
but I should call tomorrow.
But the best part? The guy upgraded my room! I had a normal
suite but he upgraded me to a piazza suite! 3 levels higher than the
room I got. I was in room 30-111. There was no view but the
room was great. 3 TV sets, big living room, dining room, Jacuzzi,
marble entry, 2 bathrooms, etc.
He did the upgrade without the $20 trick or me even asking him. I am
not a member of anything at the Venetian and I do not gamble very much. Index

Amenities: Upon asking, I was upgraded to the Rialto Suite. The Suite
looks just like the picture on the website. It was 1100 sq feet, 2 tvs,
huge bath, desk with fax machine, dining table, and great view.
View: The room overlooks the pool area and was not so high that you could
not enjoy the pool view. There was also a great view of Treasure Island
(you could see the pirate ship battle at night) and the Stratosphere in
the distance. This room will be able to see Steve Wynn's new hotel, Le
Reve, when it is finished as construction is still under way.
Other: The room was just off the elevator banks so it was less than 20
steps to the door from the elevators. The room was beyond my expectations
- no negatives. Index

View: Other: Room was at the end of the hall directly across from the
construction. We asked to move but were told not a large selection
of rooms due to holiday weekend. Construction noise started promptly
at 6AM Friday and Saturday but none on Sunday or Monday. Safe didn't
work upon check-in but was fixed the next day. Hot water never
worked on left-hand side of two bathroom sinks. No maid service
Friday and hallway was always cluttered with room service trays and other
garbage people had set outside of room (ours included). Asked for
mini-fridge to store medication but never got one, however, was able to
store it on top of shorter cans of soda without setting off alarm.
Developed bumpy rash on arms and legs from either sheets or detergent that
took almost a week to go away upon return home. On the good side,
the room was huge (we greatly appreciated the extra space in the living
room area) very quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Non-smoking room requested with no smoke odor detected at all. Asked
for coffee pot and was given one immediately with ample supply of coffee,
sugar creamer etc. Most of the hotel staff was very friendly (front
desk, dealers, valet parking, and restaurant help) but housekeeping was
inefficient and seemed to have an "attitude" even with generous
tip the second day. Probably will never stay there again due to
cost. Have stayed at TI for 1/3 the cost with better treatment and
comparable amenities except for room size. Index

hide-a-bed, and two stuffed chairs, and a table with two chairs. We
also had a desk with a fax machine. Bathroom goodies included
shampoo, soap, conditioner, lotion, shower cap, sewing kit, and
"vanity kit"--apparently an assortment of q-tips and emery
boards. There are also two terry cloth robes in the closet.
Very nice room. We got a bottle of Champagne our first night
courtesy of the hotel, apparently for being first-time to Vegas types.
The girlfriend loved the place. I liked the uniforms the cocktail

I asked for a Strip view room and got 22201,
with a fine view from the Mirage to TI, the north Strip and Wynn. It also
overlooked the pool area. The room was right by the elevators. As I had
read at several places including cheapovegas that these were to be the
nicest rooms in LV, I wasn´t too pleased with what I got: the room was
large with a separate sitting area, but the decor didn´t appeal to me.
These muted colours supposed to convey italian elegance rather seemed
faded, as the carpet seemed already worn. I missed the little touches
which makes staying at a really extraordinary hotel such a nice experience
. Take the bathroom, for example: there was a soaking tub and a shower,
but there was absolutely nothing special about i (if you don´t count the
hairs in the tub and the fact I had to fix the drain which would´t close
all the way before using it). This didn´t ruin my stay or anything, but I
had certainly liked Bellagio and even Mandalay Bay (where to have been
fair I had an upgraded room and can´t really compare) a lot better. There
were two tvs in the main room. Funnily enough, only one of them got HBO.Index

Sunday night we wanted some nice space to
hold our poker tournament so
we had a room at the Venetian. We were able to get the Prima Suite
for a prepaid rate of $375 plus tax. I've been told by a couple of
people that it was a steal at that price so we took it. The room
(34-171) was indeed very impressive. A marble entryway with a powder
room off the entrance had a sliding door, which I thought was
interesting. Open living room with two chairs, sofa, dining table
with four chairs, coffee table and armoire with 32" TV.
To the right was a full wet bar with two stools. The bar was not
stocked with much glassware though, only a couple of wine glasses and
a corkscrew/bottle opener. I guess if you're entertaining a big crowd
they want you to hire a bartender. Behind the bar up in a wall cubby
were two 20"(?) TVs. The problem was this, although there were four
late games on TV that afternoon, only two were being carried by LV
stations so even though we had three TVs in that room we could only
watch two games. Yes, I know, go down to the sports book dummy.
Well, if I'm dropping that much cash for that nice a room this is the
one time I really do want to spend time in the room.
The bedroom had a king bed with a decorative drape near the head of
the bed. It too had an armoire with 32" TV. The bathroom was also
very nice. There was a dressing area with table and mirror outside
the bathroom. Inside were two full sinks on separate sides so two
people could do their prep work without bumping into each other. The
tub was large and jetted and the shower was huge with a bench, two
shower heads and two water controls. That answered the age old
question of what to do when shaving in the shower. One side of your
body usually gets cold, but not in this place. The toilet room had a
real door, and a phone, although I refuse to talk to anyone while on
the throne or talk to anyone while they're on the can. The view was
to the south and east so we could see many hotels on the south strip
PLUS we could watch the planes take off and land. Very nice.
Was it worth $409 (incl tax)? Well, considering we crammed six guys
into it I guess so. I wouldn't normally pay that much but I was glad
we did it for our big event. Index

The room, as expected, was great. Larger
than most hotel rooms with a separate bed and living area and a large
bathroom. High speed internet access was $9.95/day. I was a little
surprised that there was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. The
view on that side of the building isn't so great as it looks across at the
other tower with almost no view of the strip or the pool. For me that's
not a big issue but I know it is for others. Pictures of the room are on
their web site at www.venetian.com
and are accurate. I would definitely stay
there again, especially at those rates. Very friendly staff, good
restaurants, good location, good pool area. Index

On Friday, March 3, after my four hour drive
to Las Venice, I dropped my car
off at valet parking/hotel check-in at 1:00 PM and went straight to VIP
services. My host had arranged a room on the 24th floor which was ready
and
waiting. I picked up my keys then quickly detoured to the casino. By the
time I entered my room, it was about 5:30 PM. My host had sent up a
terrific fruit bowl:
http://shorterlink.com/?NG5DAR
Since it opened in 1999, I've stayed at The Venetian roughly two dozen
times
and have never been disappointed with the rooms or the service. This
visit
was no exception. I called to have my bags and a refrigerator brought up
and both were delivered within 15 minutes. My king size bed, non-smoking
room had a wonderful strip view of TI and The Mirage and The Venetian's
swimming pools. There were no spots on the living room furniture, carpet
or
bedspread--everything was immaculate and in great shape. The phones,
lights
and televisions were all in perfect working order. The mattresses were
upgraded over the past couple of years and are now extremely comfortable.
They recently added lightweight down comforters and have always used high
thread count sheets. The toiletries were the typical decent quality soap,
shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath gel plus shower cap, sewing kit,
shoe
horn and several small packets that each contained swabs, cotton balls and
a
small nail file. Added this trip were two pairs of complimentary
slippers.
One minor but slightly amusing change was with wakeup calls. In the past
when I requested a wakeup call, an automated system would ring the phone.
Knowing this, I would never say anything when I picked up the phone. This
trip, when my first wakeup call came, I picked up the phone and didn't say
a
word. After a number of seconds, I heard someone say, "Hello. Hello??"
Seems that they now have a real person call who wishes you well, tells you
the time, the temperature and the expected weather for the day. Index
