Stardust Room:
13239 Date posted: 2/3/01
Smoking: Yes
Day: MondayTuesdayWednesday
Rate: 25.00
Recommend: Yes
Source: Through the slot club at the Stardust.
Amenities: the standard lotion, shampoo and soap. nothing to write
home about. double beds. one television. 3-4 lamps.
bathroom was average.
View: great view. i asked the front desk clerk for the highest room
overlooking the
south strip and she got me on the 32nd floor (only 32 floors in the
tower). You could view the sunrise and sunset. The only hotels
that I could not see from my room (looking south) were the Tropicana, Excalibur,
Luxor, Mandalay bay and Caesars palace. at night you could see the
airplanes line up in order to land at the airport. I was also able
to spot some trains going through town. The view was the best thing
about the room, but let me say that I haven't had a view that good in my
life. Be sure to ask for a room high up overlooking the strip.
Eat at the paradise cafe and get the special $7.95 prime rib. do not
wait for a table because you might be in line for 30-45 minutes.
just go past the line and eat at the counter. it's quicker and the
service is probably the same. the steak and lobster dinner is also a
good choice if eating at this cafe.

Room: 11034 posted 1/22/02
Smoking: Yes
Day: Wednesday Thursday Friday
Rate: Free baby!
Agency: It was comped through the slot club at the Stardust.
Amenities: 5 packs of matches, shampoo, lotion, shower cap, ice bucket, 2
bars of soap, many towels, what's on magazine and another lv magazine.
19" tv with new remote. 3 chairs, 1 table, 1 bed, many lights.
A paper that let you redeem a funbook downstairs. Ice machine on every
floor with a coke machine located by the elevators.
View: The room was on the 10th floor overlooking the self parking
lot/convention center. The hotels that I could see include the
palace station, circus circus, stratosphere and the Sahara. Not a great
view, but I could see the trains pass through town sitting on my bed,
which was a plus.
Other: Good slot floor if you like those wacky and wild nickel machines.
They did not have enough floor personnel to fill hoppers and give hand
pays though. Cocktail service was slow compared to normal.
Great place to stay. I would recommend staying here, but ask for a
room higher up overlooking the south strip. Index

Smoking:
Yes
Day:
Tuesday Wednesday
Dates:
Tuesday till Wednesday
Rate:
$54
Agency: The room was booked through the slot club for $49 per
night plus tax.
Amenities: Same items in the room as the description from a
previous poster for room 13239. We also got two free
buffets, so it was a darn good deal. I'd stay here again.
I like the fact that you can self park and be close to the
elevators. View: The view was overlooking the
parking lot/palace station/circus circus/westward ho.
Other: Good selection of slots and table games.
During the weekday they weren't too busy, so only half of their
tables were open. It is great that they have a swenson's
downstairs with some good ice cream. The Paradise Cafe is
a good place to go and get prime rib (get the regular kind
and not the spicy/blackened kind). Index

Philster
and I arrived late and found that the Stardust
"pre-books" you into your rooms. Have no idea what
that's supposed to do for the Stardust or the person checking
in. What we did find out was that we had a great room with a
great view, but at a price: it was a smoking room. When we got
to the room we found out that the smoking smell was almost non
existent and either nobody on the floor smoked, or the Stardust
has a great ventilation system in the hallways. The room was
standard sized and indeed it had a fabulous view of the south
strip. Mirage, Frontier, Venetian, TI and the lot could all be
easily seen from our vantage point. Very nice, high quality
furnishings. Pillows though were awful (the foam rubber kind).
Small safe in the closet with NO key pad, just a regular key.
Philster had to make sure he wasn't too drunk from the night
before, otherwise he'd misplace the key. The bathroom was
average in size with a tub and shower. But once again, high
quality material on the large vanity, nice tile floor and a very
large gold trim mirror. Very nice indeed. The usual soap,
shampoo amenities. This room was a definite upgrade to the other
rooms the Hogs had (room 10320 for example). The upgrades are
most noticeable in the bathroom. We booked this directly through
the Stardust website at around 80 dollars per night on average,
including tax. We did the usual Travelaxe checks before hand and
found this to be cheapest. The Sporgy Week from Oct 17-21 was
especially expensive at other resorts. All in all we very
pleased with the Stardust room, the gaming facilities and Tony
Roma's on premises. The buffet on the other hand.......Index
Stardust Room 10765
East Tower posted 11/26/04
This was on the 7th floor of the east tower,
room 10765 or something
like that, with a great view down the Strip toward the Frontier and the
Winn, plus a real balcony with sliding doors, wide enough to sit out on.
This is the next to the highest floor of regular rooms. On the elevator,
after "8", there's a button marked "PH" (penthouse I assume) and a card
reader to keep the riff-raff like us from selecting that floor. :)
This was a smoking room obviously, ash trays all over the place, but
no odor at all. (None of us smoke.)
I think this room is slightly larger than the west tower rooms. 2
queens, very comfortable mattress, but kinda wimpy pillows. Had a
huge-huge-huge sliding door closet. There's a nice separate vanity area
right outside the bathroom, but if somebody's using that, it's almost
impossible for somebody else to get in and out of the bathroom. :(
As for bottles you get in the bathroom, they've added some. Now they
have shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and bath salts, plus bath soap and
facial soap.
LOL! Warning sign not to steal the towels. $40 per towel. Yeah, right! Index
Stardust Room 2919
West Tower posted 12/23/05
Now for the part of the trip I advertised
quite a lot back home: the
LVA free Stardust offer. Instead of the dreaded villas, I was able to
sweet-talk the check-in lady into a West Tower room (2919) (I should
consider offering classes how to do this), with a Strip view and
overlooking the Desert Inn golf course. This was a pretty nice room,
actually, just like it's described at
cheapovegas. The fellow guests
were something to behold, my favorite being an African American in
shorts wearing Excalibur (but of course) Viking horns. Index
