Sahara
Room 1885/Tangiers Tower.
2 Doubles. Non-smoking.
Room 1885 was a non-smoking room and happily smelled that way. This was
not the case in the other rooms, as I heard other guests complain to
housekeeping. The room was newly decorated with a very nice multicolored
Berber carpet. A small chest of drawers, desk, table with two chairs and a
night stand. The curtains were thick and lines and when drawn properly,
shut out almost all sun light. Only a 19 inch TV with remote, with the
usual suspects for in room entertainment? Curiously the phone was an old
style push button with a massive message light on top. The bathroom had
new fixtures and tile. It was a good size with a large sink and a
bathtub/shower set up with a decent shower head placed high above (unlike
Imperial Palace). For you amenities nuts out there, there weren't many
aside from a bottle of shampoo. No coffee makers, safes, irons, ironing
boards, mini fridges or hair dryers to speak of so bring your toiletry
kit. Overall, an above average size room, tastefully decorated, minimally
appointed and not overly far from the casino.
Positives: Very clean, updated and fair sized room with nice bathroom.
Prompt and quick elevator service. Medium walk to the casino. Sahara has
two cab stands. This room is closer to the side stand, and a haul to the
front (main) stand.
Cheap, cheap, cheap especially through LVRS.
Negatives: Not much of a view. No amenities to speak of.

Rooms 1759 and 1762 posted 11/19/01
Overall the room was clean and for the
most part satisfactory. We had 2 double beds. A small table
with two chairs, a 19" color TV and another small makeup table with a
chair. Note: there is no iron and board in the rooms. We
didn't inquire about getting one, so I don't know if they are available.
There was a hairdryer in the bathroom. Bathroom amenities were pretty
basic: 2 bars of soap and a bottle of conditioning shampoo. The
towels were also pretty thin. Our stock of towels consisted of 3 bath
towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 face cloths. (I would have liked more face
cloths). We were assigned rooms 1762 & 1759, our room did have a nice
view of the Stratosphere.

2242/2244 posted 2/29/04
great rate on a very spacious Suite and adjoining "double-double"
(Room 2244 and 2242) $190 per night tax & fees included. There were a
couple of light bulbs out when we got there, called down and they were up
in 15 minutes to replace them, they knocked some dust on the floor from
the textured ceiling and housekeeping was up immediately to clean it up.
Very happy about that. The only complaint about the room was the
temperature in the shower was unstable. Index
Sahara
Room 1573
posted 10/20/04
I stayed with Philster in room 1573 which
offered as good a view of the
south strip as the Sahara could offer from the Tangiers tower. The
carpeting
and furnishings were all fairly new and there was no sign of wear and tear
anywhere. The standard two double bed layout with a table and two chairs.
A
nice surprise is a25 inch TV, but that went unused. There was NO in room
safe, so I felt good about bringing traveler's checks with me. The
bathroom
had a hair dryer which also went unused. Bathroom amenities included
shampoo
and conditioner and a few bars of soap. There is a standard sized tub with
a
shower. Good water pressure and no complaints except Philster backed up
the
overmatched toilet a couple of times. Index
