Monte Carlo
Room 11-231

My room was 11231 at Monte Carlo. 11th floor facing the mountains, pool, parking garage.  3 rooms from the end of the hallway---away from the elevator.  2 queen beds, bathroom nice, soap & shampoo ok. Sink faucet worn. Shower head too low for us 6+footers.  Plumbing A bit noisy. No problem with hot water.  Overall, nice, clean. Desk w/2 chairs. Window cracks open an inch or 2. 3 drawers for clothes under TV.  Not enough hangers.  1 suitcase stand. Stationary and pen. Shampoo, and soap as
expected. Only 2 small glasses and ice bucket with plastic bag. Ice machine on same floor, but by elevator next to soft drink machine. Maid service was very good. Comfortable beds, enough blankets, and enough control of heat/cooling.

Monte Carlo
Room 30-326

Arrived at the Monte Carlo at about 10:30 Saturday night and checked into room 30-326.  Nice high floor but had a view of the back parking lot and a sliver of the NYNY Coaster.  Room was pretty standard with 2 queen beds, a little writing table, TV and iron/board.  No safe, not that it mattered.  I never had the occasion to need a place to store my newfound riches.  Loved the newest ride at the Monte Carlo: The Turbo Flush.  Yikes, that toilet can take anything you can dish out and send it screaming 30 floors down to the sewer before you can say "Bran Muffin."  Don't flush while you're still sitting on the pot or you're likely to get sucked down too! Monte Carlo
Room 16-318
We were in 16-318 which was about ½ way down one of the 3 LONG hallways on each floor.  The room was lacklustre unfortunately. Janine thought that the armoire next to the iron and ironing board was kind of neat, but other than that, it was pretty much a standard room with a king sized bed.  The view was pretty lame too unfortunately. Got a nice view of the parking lots and the Orleans Hotel in the distance...sigh....  Index

Monte Carlo
Room 7-110

Recommend: Yes
Amenities: King sized bed, Writing table, 2 straight back chairs, one big plush chair, armoire, closet, iron ironing board.  Handicapped Room.

View: Room was about 1/3 of the way down one of the 3 hallways with a view looking over the pool towards the Bellagio and Bally's, Paris and the Aladdin.  Very nice view from this location, although I would have preferred to have been up on a higher floor since we were on the seventh floor.
Room was very nice, not worn down or beat up at all.  Bathroom was very unusual though.  Bathroom itself is rather large but this room had a small vanity area with the commode located in a corner.  This was a handicapped room and had all the related bars and handles as well.  I did not need or particularly want a handicapped room, but this was the only non-smoking king size room available above the 3rd floor at the time I checked in.  I assume that in the non-handicapped rooms, the bathroom would have more counter space but I am not sure as this was my first stay at the Monte Carlo.  I was very impressed with the room and the hotel considering the price we paid and would not hesitate to stay here again.  Definitely a nice resort and hotel at a good price. Room 14102 (suite)

We arrived in the early evening and had reservations for a standard room. $89 a night.  As I looked at the internet just before we left, I found that rooms were up to  $129 anight during our stay.  When we arrived I asked about an upgrade and was told that we could have a suite for $30 more a night. My wife jumped in and said 'YES'.  So for the next four nights suite 14102 it was. $119 a night. (my wife must be rich!). Location:  Excellent!  Closest to the elevators and ice machine with no noise from either. Room Description:  Open the door and there is 1 light switch that lights up entrance lights. 'Oh, Wow!' says the wife.  The room has a genuine KING size bed. There are 2 chairs w/lamp and coffee table on the side, a table with 4 chairs by the window, & a sofa (very comfy) in front of the TV.  By the bed, 2 night stands w/ lamps.  All lamps must be turned on individually. There is no light over the table,  so you can't read, or play a game, or do anything at the table with 4 chairs.  Why have a table & 4 chairs if you can't use it after dark?? The pictures on the wall & the chairs are all very nice. 2 bathrooms.  Jacuzzi tub was great. Soap, hair care, mouthwash,  etc. no complaints. Make up mirror, and hair drier included. We actually used the shampoo/conditioner-mouthwash- hair drier-vanity mirror- oatmeal soap, and body wash. Other stuff:  Ironing board----Has anyone ever used an ironing board??? Bed:  Comfy--Full King. 4 small pillows. Slept well. Closet:  Small, but with hangers that can be removed and re-hung as desired. Bathrooms: 2 toilets...2 sinks..2 rooms.. strange, but the toilet area separated from the Jacuzzi area had a towel bar with bath towels. Sewing Kit:  For the first time ever the wife used the sewing kit.  Her pants had a hole in a special place.  VIEW:    The pool is completely in our view.  Just what we wanted.  We looked down at the entire pool area and after viewing the entire area decided where we wanted to go. We picked out where to go  to avoid the most crowded areas. Pool:  Great area!!  We lounged in the morning next to the vending machines under the monorail every day. Wave Pool, and River ride are great. Oh, the "Scenery" during spring break!!!!!  WOW!!!  BAD::::NITPICKING allowed!! Wallpaper peeling by the tub.  No rubber stopper on the door in the bathroom.  Worst of all is the dripping faucet in the tub. No excuse for that, Toilet seat that won't stay up because of the location of the flush handle. (Hey, I'm a sensitive guy , when I'm done, I lower the seat and the cover.). $4.00 bottles of water... I was in the room when an employee wanted to check the bottles.   NO way I'm using a bottle of water for $4. Rusty drain in the tub, and discolored fixtures in the sinks. The remote control was missing the cover   for the batts, and off/on was all but impossible unless pointed perfectly at the TV. THE WALLS: for the first time I heard thought the walls. Not a problem, but I could hear the people next door.  They were quiet, thank goodness, All in all, would I  spend an extra $30 a night for this suite??.....no. Am I glad I spent the extra for this room ......YES! My wife thought it was great,.........the location was great. She has told several people about 'OUR SUITE WAS......'   So I guess to her the money was worth it. All thing considered, Monte Carlo remains our favorite place. Index

Monte Carlo Room: 22-210 posted 1/26/03
Smoking: Yes
Day:  Thursday Friday Saturday
Dates: 1/23/03 to 1/25/03
Rate:   $74
Recommend: Yes
Agency: Online at the hotel's website.
Amenities: TV. 2 Q beds.  Desk with 2 chairs.  Tub and shower.  Ironing board, blow dryer.   Bottles of goo = shampoo; separate conditioner; lotion.  Two kinds of soap.  Shower cap.  Only 2 drinking glasses which is not enough.
View: 22nd floor looking out toward MGM and across at the Gameworks/M & M shopping area.  Very nice view.
Other: Walls are a bit thin at this property, but then again it could just be that the people were louder than normal due to it being Super Bowl week.  Smoking floors are always the party floors, but I wanted a view room and smoking was all they had.  The room did NOT smell of smoke.

Water pressure was good as was drainage in the shower/tub.  The shower was a little bit of a drag in that, though the water pressure was itself good, the little knob on the spigot that you raise in order to change the flow from the spigot to the shower head was sort of misaligned.  So you never were able to fully redirect the flow from the spigot to the shower, resulting in a less than vigorous flow from the shower.

Worst part of the experience with this hotel was that room service carts remained parked in hallways for 24 hrs +.  Very unacceptable in my opinion.  Not enough to keep me from staying here again, but totally inexcusable.

This hotel is extremely underrated. Index

Monte Carlo Room: 19-315 posted 5/17/05

We asked for and received a strip view room without the $20 trick, but I tipped him $10 as we left the desk.  Our room was 19-315, in the more north facing south wing. Excellent views of the strip.  We had also requested a refrigerator but neither that nor the rollaway bed was in the room yet.  We called the desk and those arrived very shortly.  Since I have never met a foam pillow I like I asked if down pillows were available and very soon I had three of the soft white things on my bed, amply stuffed. Wonderful. Index

Monte Carlo Room: 10-122 posted 3/5/06

Standard room had no bells and whistles (no room safe, no
Robo-bar, only one sink for a room with 2 Queen beds) but tastefully
decorated in dark mahogany and cream tones.  Room was spotless, towels
of a good size (although only 1 bath sheet was provided - seems that
there should have been 2 handy without having to ask for extra - but
then again regular size bath towel did OK for me).  10th floor view
(room 122) was looking North over the swimming pools, parking lot and
the roof of the Casino to the center strip hotels (Paris, Bellagio).Index
