Mirage Room 25076

We check in to 25076 after a 1/4 mile hike down a dark corridor. Very well decorated petite Jacuzzi suite. The view is the best I have ever had in Vegas. For a total of $99 a night( we had casino rate before the upgrade fee) I feel like I robbed the front desk. We can see from Venetian all the way to the MGM. Wow we are going to have a great view  of the fireworks opening night at Aladdin!! We get our bags from the bell check and a tutorial on how to use the remote for the TV. Hubby had trouble with it. Duh! channel up channel down. Looked easy to me.  Index

Mirage Room 16029 and 22123

We stayed in room 16029 and had a GREAT view of the volcano, Venetian, and Treasure Island. It was worth the extra $20 without a doubt. We had drinks in the room one night and just watched the volcano and the strip - it was great. Chipper tried the same thing with a $10 - and he did not do as well room wise. He had a view of Caesars (Room #22123). But, he did manage to score 4 lines passes so I think he did ok. We all were a bit disappointed in the room size. We expected the bathroom to be bigger - it really is quite small. Single wide sink, toilet, and shower. Shaving mirror and hair dryer, and as Casino Boy would say "All kinds of goop". We had a safe in the closet that was very handy but a little small. The best part of the room (next to the view) had to be the mattress. They must have these made special (They say Serta Sleeper Mirage on them) because sleeping on this mattress was the best. I woke up feeling great with no backaches - same for Tea.  Index

Mirage Room 14098 (non-smoking floor)

Nights stayed: Friday-Sunday
Rate: $119 Friday/Saturday, Sunday $85 (special event rate)
Where booked: Telephone

The room is located on the north side of the west wing, only a short walk from the elevator.  There is a reasonable view north to see Treasure Island, the Stardust, the New Frontier, the Adventuredome at Circus Circus and the top of the Stratosphere tower.  There are double curtains.  The windows open, but the sticker on the sill says doing so will trigger a fire alarm.

The entry is tiled, as is the bathroom.  There is a closet with an in-room safe.  There is no iron or ironing board.  The door didn't completely close if left on its own, I had to push or pull to get the latch to engage.

The main room is as expected: table with chairs, nightstand, alarm clock radio, TV in enclosure with drawers.  There is one TV channel dedicated exclusively to the Mirage, one to Treasure Island, and another which covered other hotels (possibly MGM-Mirage resorts).

There are individual reading lights in the ceiling above each bed.
The heating/cooling unit had a weak fan and tended to leave the room
stuffy even on high.  However, if the thermostat was turned down to
start the AC, then the fan seemed to do a better job.

The bathroom is tiny.  Don't open the door if someone is using the toilet.  The water pressure in the shower is fine and the spray pattern adjustable, though not to massage-style jets.  The fan is entirely inadequate at keeping the mirrors from fogging up if the door is closed.  Lots of bottles (and they restock them daily if you take a bottle with you -- such as lotion to help in the dry or smoky air).

There is only room for one in the bathroom, but there is a separate sitting area just outside the bathroom for applying makeup.  There is a magnifying lighted mirror here (for the ladies), and a special shaving mirror (for the men) inside the bathroom.  Index

Mirage Room 16066 posted 8/1/01

I took a tip from an old post and a week before my trip I wrote a nice E-mail to Mirage guest relations stating that we were celebrating our 20th anniversary and was wondering if we could get a room high up with a nice view. They quickly replied that due to demand, a nice view would cost $20 extra per night! However, they would give us a bottle of champagne. Well, at check-in I expressed  my regret to the agent about the added fee for a view and without a tip/bribe he said that due to it being our anniversary they would give us a room with a view without an extra fee. We got room 16066. Though not that high up, the view nevertheless was fantastic. It overlooked the top of the atrium and provided a great view of the volcano and a wide swatch of the Strip. In the background we could see the sun rise above the mountains as well. One drawback however was seeing Siegfried and Roy looking at you every time you looked out the window! Others have described Mirage rooms, so I won't. Yes, the bathroom is a tad cramped. Staff and service was great, although they never did fix a broken make-up mirror.  Index

Mirage Room: 19123 posted 9/11/01
Day:             Sunday
Rate:            Free
Agency: I had a free night that I had redeemed through MGM/Mirage's gaming website.

Amenities: 3 bottles of stuff. 2 bars of oatmeal scented soap. 4 glass glasses. A larger than usual tv and the reception was awesome.  Bathroom was a bit small compared to other hotels, but the entrance to the room was huge with marble flooring.  It was non-smoking with a King bed.  Two chairs and a table.  A place by the bathroom to apply makeup with a lighted mirror.  There were many lights in the room.
View: Spectacular!  I looked directly down on the pool and I could also see the dolphins in the dolphin habitat playing ball in the pool. Hotels that I could see from my window: Caesars, Imperial Palace, Flamingo, Aladdin, part of the Bellagio fountains, Paris and part of the MGM Grand (the Rio also).  I did not view this as a negative, but I know some might: the room was two rooms from the end of the hall so there was a little walking involved.  Valet was quick. Self parking is also easy, by the road down is a little steep.  Other:  The place was great.  Excellent customer service.  I'd stay here again, but I'm not sure if I'd pay $80 or $90 per night for the place.  Index

A desk w internet access and phone on each nightstand.  View: overlooked the volcano, the strip, Venetian Hotel and beyond...very nice.

Mirage  Room: 6122 posted 8/30/02

Agency: Through marketing.....back of players club card
Amenities: King sized bed, table with 2 chairs, 2 night tables with lamps, armoire with tv, alarm clock, safe in room, room located at end of hallway--long walk to elevators and ice machine, non-smoking but had odor, air conditioner vent rattled when on highest setting, makeup mirror placed on vanity outside bathroom, writing desk with chair, ice bucket/glasses. Bathroom: VERY, very small--1 bowl sink, toilet, shower/tub combo, basic shampoo/conditioner/shower cap and lotion, lighting was poor, vent not working properly. Non-impressive design on carpeting/bed and window treatments. Stains noted throughout carpet (possible this room was not done in remodel)

View: None.....overlooked top of another building

Other: The room was definitely unacceptable irregardless of having received it free. Note to management has already been sent. This was second trip and very disappointed this time. Index

View: We had a nice view overlooking the strip. Our view allowed us to look straight across to the Venetian, Paris, and MGM in the distance. We were able to look straight down on the volcano and watch the show each night.
Other: This floor was part of the "deluxe room" floors and was a nice upgrade. I simply asked for it at check in and they gave it to me. Service was great and the room was very clean. Index

Mirage Room: 20105   posted 5/8/03

Day: Sunday through Thursday, May 4-8, 2003. Rate: $99. Smoking room. Booked directly at the hotel's website. Requested non-smoking room was not available upon check in on Sunday evening. Was tempted to ask for a suite but resisted for some unknown reason. Although hallways smelled of smoke, room did not seem overly offensive. Average size room with two queens, a typical hotel desk with chair and a small chaise chair. Ironing board and iron along with small safe were in the good sized closet. 25 inch TV with the usual hotel movies, etc. Very small bathroom with bathtub/shower. The usual toiletries: lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Nothing to complain about, but a very ordinary sized room, although furnishings, carpet and draperies were of very good quality. View was of the pool area and south strip. Flamingo Hilton, Caesers, Paris and Ballys were all visible. Index

Mirage Room: 22121   posted 7/5/03

Stayed at the Mirage for the first time (usually Flamingo/Ballys) - package deal for 89/night Sun-Thurs. Very nice, we'd stay there again; I'm not sure what folks mean by small rooms. We were in 22121; nice view of  pool and S. Strip, but a looong walk from the elevators. The pool was fantastic, but you need to claim your spots by around 9 or 10 to avoid getting shut out. Every morning at 7 we'd look down at the pool and see the line up - it was like an amusement park; when the pool opened, people would sprint - yes, like a 100-yard-dash - to claim spots with towels; it was wild. Some folks got entire rows (12-14 lounges).  Index

Mirage Room:  22058 posted 10/24/05

The first room they gave us at Mirage was quite
disappointing.  It looked worn, felt musty, and the bedspread had a
big patch in the middle of it; definitely not what we expect when
paying top dollar to stay at Mirage.  I called the front desk and
politely asked if we could move to another room.  Not only did they
move us to a new room, but they put us on the 22d floor with a volcano
view.  We were much happier with the second room, as it met our
expectations from that property.  Index

Mirage Room:  24060 25041 posted 12/30/05

My wife and I stayed in room 25041 and my son and his girlfriend got
room 24060. These are their deluxe tower rooms. The best part of these
rooms is the fact that there is a private elevator to these floors
only. There was never a delay at the elevator.

Floor 24 is non smoking and 25 is a smoking floor. Both had a volcano
view, which isn't too spectacular from up above, but it does provide a
strip view which was nice. The rooms were nice, but a little smaller
than Bellagio. However, we did have a jaccuzi tub and separate shower.
Never get get around to using the jaccuzi. The shampoos, body soaps,
bath salts, etc. were much better than provided by Bellagio. The towels
were much softer also. Index

Mirage Room:  12054 posted 3/30/2006

There was no wait at check-in, but they didn't have a smoking king
available. The desk girl got on the phone and told me they had a
smoking handicapped room available and the only difference was wider
doors. I took it. I don't remember the room number but it was on the
11th floor. It was terrible. It overlooked the freeway and the bathroom
was just old fashioned white porcelain sinks with no vanity or counter
to put your stuff on. We accepted it anyway for the night.

It was around 1:30AM and we decided to go down to the casino. My wife
lasted an hour and went to bed. I played slots and video poker until
around 5:00AM. Didn't win a thing. Went to the room and went to sleep.
Woke up at 8:00 AM and hopped in the shower ready to go back down.

Went down to the casino and had breakfast at Caribe Cafe. Generic but
good food. Nothing special. Went and played a slot machine while my
wife played one a couple isles away but with-in eye shot of me. I stuck
$100 in it and played twenty of it and my wife motioned to me to come
over. Her card wasn't working in the machine. I cashed the machine out
but like an idiot, forgot to collect my ticket. I went and got her a
new card, brought it back and realized I left my ticket in my machine.
It was gone. My wife saw someone on it right after me, but didn't think
anything of it. I asked her what they looked like. A security person
saw me looking around and asked if I needed something. I told her what
happened and she called someone else. They wrote me a hand pay for the
$80.00 I had lost after opening the machine and verifying on a readout
what I had done. Very nice people. I figured I was just shit out of
luck!

We went back to the room and called the desk asking to change rooms.
They got us a room on the 12th floor, room 12054. Easy for me to
remember as I was born in 12/54. Much nicer room, but not nearly as
nice as the room I had last trip in the Deluxe Towers. This room had a
combo bath/shower and a much smaller bathroom. I guess you can't have
everything when you're being comped! Index

Mirage Room:  20039 posted 6/11/2006

We spent the first 2 nights at the Mirage, comped. At check in, I asked
if we could get a room up high with a nice view. The lady put us in
room 20-039, overlooking the volcano. Had I not asked, we would have
been on the second floor. No twenty dollar trick needed. I did give her
a nice "thank you". We also received $50 in food credits.

The room was ok, everything worked and the beds were comfortable. The
bathroom was extremely small. The combo bathtub/shower, was even
little. When you closed the shower curtain, it felt like there was no
room to
move Index

Mirage Room:  E17 posted 5/20/06

Mirage Two Bedroom Penthouse Suite - two nights - internet rate $429/night -
Room E17:
Since there were initially four of us going on this trip, we reserved a
Tower Two Bedroom suite using a promotional rate on the internet.  I
initially booked it at $469, then cancelled and re-booked when it dropped to
$429.  When we got to the registration desk, they told us, "There has been
an error in the booking and there are no more Tower suites available - we
will have to upgrade you to the Penthouse."  Well, obviously we weren't
complaining!  The suite was fantastic.  There was a separate elevator to the
penthouse suites.  The suite was on the 30th floor.  It was 1600 square
feet, with a wet bar, living room, dining area, and two bedrooms, one with a
very nice spacious bathroom with separate tub and shower, and the other
bathroom absolutely huge, probably bigger than my bedroom at home, with a
gigantic whirlpool tub and a great shower (best water pressure I've ever
seen in a hotel).  There was a hallway leading away from the bathroom with a
walk-in closet, and then a little room with the toilet and a bidet.  The
decor was a little more old-school Vegas, with lots and lots of mirrors
(including in the room with the toilet/bidet, which I thought was a bit
much).  When you turned the TV on with the remote control, it rose from a
cabinet at the foot of the bed.  I guess that's what was big in TVs before
plasma screens.  :-)  The entire front wall of the suite was
floor-to-ceiling windows, with views facing North to the TI and Wynn and
across the street to the Venetian and Casino Royale.  This suite was the
volcano view side, so it afforded a nice view of the erupting volcano at
night.  Overall, it was fun living the high life in the penthouse.  I highly
recommend it if you can get a good rate. Index

Mirage Room:  19028 posted 11/8/06

Anyways arrive at the Mirage around 10pm, check in.  19028, North Tower I
believe.  I was comped a room for 2 nights from my host at the Mirage and
asked for a king bed, non-smoking, but that late at night all they had
available was 2 queens non-smoking room with a partial view of the strip.
Standard room, nothing special.  Regualar TV, mini-bar, etc, etc.  Small
bathroom, no seperate shower stall.  I prefer a seperate stall but no luck
here. Index
