Main Street
Station
Room 1001
The room is the standard King room I'm used
to here. Table and chairs by the shuttered windows. Big mirror on the
wall, armoire hiding a TV, closet area behind the door and small bathroom.
Everything was clean, but a little worn. Exactly what I expected.

Room 1519
Get a high room with an odd numbered room
(these face FSE and the strip. The lower the number, the further
from the train tracks you'll be. I think our favorite view was room #1519,
although it was a handicapped room, so the bathroom was a bit different
from other rooms we've had to be accessible. We had room 805 on
another trip and while it was lovely, it didn't have that great view of
the strip as we were too low. I'd get something as high as possible
and XX01, XX03, or XX05. There are some pictures of the rooms (#711
and #1519) and view here: http://www.travel2vegas.com/noind/mainst.html

Room 1625 posted
6/16/03
My "usual" room on the 11th floor
was not available, so I was given room 1625. The view was just great
and I never noticed noise from the train or interstate. The rooms at
Main Street are like a nicer Holiday Inn... nothing special but very clean
and comfortable. The bathrooms, however, are just out of date and
need refurbishing. I can't complain, though, as I was staying on an
offer of two free nights, double points, and $20 in food credit, and the
room more than fit my needs. Index

Day:
Wednesday Thursday
Dates: July 30
- August 1
Rate:
$14.50
Recommend: Yes
Agency: Through the main reservation desk.
Amenities: Rooms are fairly plain & standard. No hairdryers provided
which we found to be a pain as you have to request them from housekeeping
and you can only keep them for 1 hr. Windows have shutters, not
shades, which let in a little more light. Otherwise the rooms are
very clean, beds comfortable. Bathroom is a bit small and
showerheads only about 5ft high, but clean and well maintained.
Heard no noise from nearby train track.
View: All odd number rooms face downtown and the strip. We could see
the strip hotels in the distance, between the LVClub and the Plaza hotel
towers. Overall nice view but suggest 10th floor or higher. Both
stairwells empty onto balconies which you can easily use for pictures,
better views.
Other: Housekeeping service was the only downside here, getting to the
rooms late, and very slow delivering items to the room (ironing board
& iron, hairdryer). Index

Dates: March 27-28, 2005
Rate: $35 for two nights, one night free with Las Vegas Advisor
coupon.
Recommend: Yes
Agency: Directly with hotel.
Amenities: This is a handicapped room. It was a smoking room, but was not
stinky. The kingsize bed was comfortable. The was a small table and chair
near the window. The bathroom was small.
View: The room faced south and gave us a view of Main Street and the Plaza
Hotel. We also had a nice view of the new World Market Center Furniture
Mart.
Other: No problems with this room. Room service was prompt. It maybe too
close to train tracks for light sleepers, but did not bother us. Index

posted 10/24/05 Main Street has
renovated the rooms
there, which basically means they replaced the carpet and furniture,
and have put new linens on the beds. The wallpaper remains the same,
as do the dated bathrooms with the exception of new shower curtains
and light fixtures. The plantation shutters remain. The rooms have
basically the same feel as before, but the sheets and pillows are much
more comfortable. In reality it was a pretty half-assed renovation,
but for a free room, I certainly can't complain a bit. Index
