Las Vegas Club  Room 928 posted 5/3/01
We are old LV travelers, we started going to LVC to play the most liberal 21 in the world in 78 and have stayed there about 6 times, always in the new north tower.  I WILL NEVER arrive on a Sat again, it was H trying to make hotel reservations. I ended up talking to a casino host at LVC to get in on Sat.  I asked for a low floor, non-smoking, away from Fremont Street.  You can hear the music in the rooms from the Experience and the last show is at midnight.  The even numbered rooms are on the California Hotel side and are quiet.  The 9th and 10th floors are non-smoking. We were in room 928, just 2 doors from the elevator.  We usually get a double room, this time our son was not with us so we got a King.  Was surprised to find a small couch, coffee table and 2 side chairs.  Their rooms in the North (newer) tower are big and the double rooms have 2 queen beds.  There is a small dressing table area built into the wall on the other side of the bathroom, it has a big mirror, stool, plug (a must for us girls with hair dryers and curling irons) and light.  I like to store all my girl stuff there instead of the sink area, don't have to move it around each day for the room to be cleaned. These rooms have the heat/cool in the wall beside the window, it does not display temperatures, you have to fiddle with it to get the room the right temp.  After you have the room comfortable it is quiet.  Much quieter than the ones that are under the windows in most other hotel rooms.   The bathroom is split with the toilet and tub in one room and the sink and small closet area just outside.  Almost to much water pressure, NO EXHAUST FAN, of course the water was around my ankles while showering.  The bed was comfortable, there is no alarm clock, the carpet could have used a little cleaning, but other that a few spots the rest of the room was clean.  Since this was a no smoking room it smelled good to!!  There was a soda machine near the elevators and Ice, believe the 20 OZ Pepsi assorted drinks are $1.00.  They leave Pantene shampoo, small bars of soap and Vaseline Intensive care lotion.  Each day I left a tip and we were left extra towels, shampoo, etc.  The room was always cleaned when we came back after leaving the Clean Room hanger on the door.  We love the convenience of the parking deck, you can get off the freeway, and go in the back on Ogden, they give you parking permits to show the attendant when you check-in.  The garage is small so you are always close to the elevator and it empties right into the back casino, just about 50 feet from the North Tower elevators.  When using valet you can walk about 12 feet right into the back door and there is the check-in desk.  There was never a line and check-in was fast and friendly.

Called them up on the phone and paid extra for the North Tower. After 2 hours of play in the poker room, they knocked the price to $27 on the weekend ($19 weekday). Full price would have been $49 on weekend.

Amenities: A very large room with a King bed, two chairs, a table and a loveseat. Also has a makeup table/desk with it's own stool in the room. Closet was a cubby with no doors, but had wire hangers and a suitcase rack. Also had TV center with drawers. Sink was separate from the shower/toilet. Colored in a neutral tan, one or two small stains, but room felt very clean. Shampoo/Conditioner, lotion and two small bars of soap were provided. They also had those soap dispensers in the shower and by the sink, but were not filled and looked like they had switched back to the bottles. Was very close to the elevator, but then again, it looked like there were only about 14 rooms on each floor, so all of them would be pretty close. Ice maker and soda machine was next to the elevator, sodas were $1 for a bottle.

View: View was of the Californian and their pool, looked out over Ogden St. Also very close to main street, and seemed to have quite a few sirens going by at different times of the day. Never  woke us up though.

Other: There's no alarm clock in the room, so be prepared. TV always seemed to turn on at max volume. A/C was very powerful, turned it off most of the time we were there, even though it was 100 degrees outside. Room is big clean and comfortable, very pleased with it for the price. Housekeeping was great, I never heard them, but the room was clean every time we left, even when we came back an hour or so later. Room was non-smoking, and felt like it. Casino had good ventilation, and their snack bar area has and outdoor "theme" and felt outdoor as well.  Will be staying there again, and with the cheap prices, it will probably be soon.  Index

Las Vegas Club  Room 811

I chose this hotel for the price ($28.00). You have to go to their website and send them an e-mail requesting rates for the days you want. Although the staff is excellent, I wouldn't stay there again.  The room was very shabby.  There were actual cigarette burn marks on the dresser and the nightstand and a ring stain from a drinking glass on the dresser.  The carpet was probably once a maroon, but now it is a muddy burgundy color.  They only give you one small bar or soap, and some awful liquid soap in dispensers attached to the wall of the bathroom and the shower.  Boy am I glad I brought my own shower gel and poof.  One afternoon, I was all set to take a bath and noticed there was no stopper. I called housekeeping and about 30 minutes later, an "engineer" came and installed one. There is a window in the shower which opens to the outside world.  Index

Las Vegas Club  Room 405 posted 2/22/04

We arrived at the LVC and went in thinking that the Aladdin couldn't be beaten, but were we in for a surprise?  We were upgraded to a lovely room in the North Tower [thanks Andrew from Al. is it Feb. yet?  You see, I read your posts! :-)] [ It was room  405, Cyber.]  Andrew had guided me through the process of asking for that tower. Well, it had a coffee maker and a fridge----just ideal for a pair of lazy ones like ourselves.  Later we would stock the fridge with milk and juices but for now, we wanted to take David for lunch.  We went to the coffee shop at Jerry's Nugget and I can highly recommend it. Las Vegas Club  Room 720; North Tower posted 4/21/04

I had heard the North Tower rooms were much nicer than South Tower, if this is true I'm glad we were bumped  up to the North. The room was large but had a strong musty smell, there  were burns in the carpet, Aileen and Jo are smokers so I had asked for a smoking room. The bathroom was tiny, had shampoo and body lotion but no hairdryer, or coffee maker. There was a large window that overlooked the small pool at the California across Ogden, with a partial view of Main, and
MSS.

Las Vegas Club 1403 South Tower posted 5/21/04

I was in my room (1403, Hog, in the South Tower, plain but clean and
lots of room with a choice view over the railroad) Index

Las Vegas Club 926 North Tower posted 6/28/04

The North tower room (926) was clean and spacious, with a king size
bed, nice sitting area with a couch and table, and a view of the Cal
next door, from which you could look directly down on the Cal's
sparsely decorated (and even more sparsely used) pool.  One pleasant
surprise, though, was that the LVC now provides bar soap in addition
to the strange soap dispensers in the shower and next to the sink.
The room was quiet and comfortable, and best of all, free. Index

Las Vegas Club 1408 South Tower posted 9/26/04

Room 1408 South Tower would have to be the noisiest hotel room I have ever
stayed in in my life. The FSE, the railroad, the Freeway and all its
police/fire engine sirens, seemed like they were all in the room with us.
The room itself was fine(I don't need much) but was almost uninhabitable due
to the noise. The next day I rang reception and explained the situation and
was told It was noisy because we were near the FSE. Oh really?  I said was
the anything available on the other side of the hotel and was told yes but
it would be worse due to the noise of the air conditioning unit. I was then
offered something lower on the same side of the hotel.I said wouldn't that
be noisier because its closer to the street and was told yes, probably. So
we stayed put. Index

Las Vegas Club 1420  posted 5/28/06

Two queen beds, smoking.  Clerk said it was an
"MVP Suite", but it appeared to be a regular-sized North Tower room.
View north of the roofs of the California and Main Street Station, and
the mountains on the horizon.  No noticeable traffic noise from Main
St. or the freeway.  No smell of smoke in the room air or in the
bedspreads or drapes.  There was a 25-inch tube TV in a large cabinet
with three dresser drawers underneath.  A round table with two chairs
sat in front of the window.  One nightstand between the beds held a
phone but no clock-radio.  All outgoing calls are 75 cents.  The A/C,
located in a corner near the window, was effective and pretty quiet for
a lower-end hotel; there was no grinding rumble you often hear when the
compressor cycles on.  It was even quieter from the bed farther from
the window.  The room also had a mini-fridge and a room safe ($35 for
lost key), and a lighted vanity mirror with chair and hair dryer.
Bathroom:  the small sink area was partitioned from the room but had no
door.  There was a funny smell coming from the sink sometimes.
Countertop had 2 vials of shampoo, 3 body lotion and 3 small round
soaps, plus a coffeemaker with packets of "100% Colombian coffee"
(regular and decaf), non-dairy creamer and stir sticks.  To the right
of the sink was a high shelf and a clothes rack with ten theft-proof
hangers, an ironing board and iron.  A door to the left of the sink led
to the bath/shower and toilet area.

Las Vegas Club 911 South Tower posted 6/1/06

Vegas Club room 911 - South Tower, king bed, non-smoking.  The view is
east over the VC parking garage; I could see some other downtown
hotels, the outside of the Fremont St. canopy and some distant
mountains.  South Tower rooms are somewhat smaller than those in the
North Tower but spacious enough.  The king bed has 3 pillows, and a
night table on each side of the bed, one with phone.  Opposite the bed
is a dresser with 3 wide drawers and a mirror, and a 19-inch tube TV on
a floor stand.  Near the window is a round table with two chairs, and a
hanging lamp above.  The room A/C vent by the window was again pretty
quiet.  The large casino A/C units on the roof below were fairly noisy
during the day but quieted down with the lower temperatures at night; I
had no trouble sleeping.  A partition divides the bath area from the
rest of the room.  There's one sink on a fairly small countertop
w/mirror.  There were two soaps and small bottles of conditioning
shampoo and "hydrating lotion."  To the right of the sink is a clothes
rack with 10 theftproof hangers, a folding luggage rack and a small
safe w/key.  To the left of the sink a door closes off the toilet and
bath/shower combo.  The soap rack held another soap and shampoo.
