FLAMINGO HILTON Room:
25030
Smoking: Yes
Recommend: Yes
Amenities: Two queen beds with two nice chairs in the corner
with a table. The room has a iron w/board, hair dryer, clock radio. The
room seemed very spacious thou the bath room was small. Huge windows to
bring in lots of light. View: This room number 25030 had an
incredible view looking south on the strip. You can easily watch the
fountain show from the Bellagio Hotel across the strip. The view from this
room must be one of the best on the entire strip. When you check into the
Flamingo always ask for the highest rooms possible. On our floor the even
numbered rooms had a view of the Ballys, Paris hotel, Monte Carlo Hotel,
Barbary Coast Hotel and the famous fountain show at the Bellagio
Hotel. Nobody in their right mind would not love this view. It
was INCREDIBLE!! The Flamingo Hilton has one of the best locations on the
Strip. Lots of nice restaurants and the buffet was not bad at all. They
also have a very good coupon book when you check in if you ask for it. In
this coupon book it has 2/1's for drinks in any hotel bar. Thou, when I
did use it they charged me $6.50 for just ONE Pina Colada. That was a rip
off if you ask me. The bar in the main casino did have 20 oz draft beers
for just 2 dollars.
They have about 8 restaurants in this hotel
with many daily specials including the usual prime rib deal. The main pool
water is now at just 61 degrees. So if you want to feel like they did when
they jumped off the Titanic, just jump right in and see how long you can
last. The other pool in the middle was at 80 degrees, but is smaller and
has more shade. So working on that tan will be hard here.
The casino seemed crowded, but not to the point of
being pushed out the door. Did not hit much on the slots, but the free
drinks were plenty to be had in their Keno Lounge.
I would definitely stay at the Flamingo Hilton
again.

Amenities: 23074 - King Bed with samll TV and entertainment center.
Very small bath - room was a little thread bare and furniure chipped.
View: Straight on view of Ceasars and Bellagio Fountains to the
left. Nice view. The flamingo has a great location - we are not in
the rooms enough to matter. With a room rate of $49.00 we did not
care at all.

Agency: Booked through Travelscape website
Amenities: Kingsize bed, desk, armoire with TV and drawer space, couch,
loveseat, chair, inroom safe, alarm clock/radio, lots of lamps, but all
low wattage. Closet with iron and ironing board; extra pillows and
blanket. Floor-to-ceiling window along one wall. Bathroom big enough for
one person; built-in hairdryer. Toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, soap,
lotion, mouthwash, shoeshine implement (looked like a rag).
View: 27th floor - full view of Bellagio fountains. Could sit on couch and
watch fountain shows. Also could see Bally's and part of Paris.
Did airport check-in. Didn't have room we requested so upgraded us to
"Executive Room" for $59 rate. Executive room is basically a
larger regular room with more seating space. The best part about this
hotel is its location -- you can walk out the door and get anywhere.
Casino easy to navigate. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Ate
breakfast once at buffet; reasonably priced, decent food. Also ate at
Lindy's (24-hour restaurant). Good food; reasonably priced; good service.
The main drawbacks to this property are the timeshare hawkers (they're
EVERYWHERE) and a lack of security checking room keys at night by the
elevators. Our second night there, we were awakened at 3:30 a.m. by some
guy who was inebriated and thought our room was his. After slicing his
hand by repeatedly attempting to shove his key card in our door, he passed
out on the floor, banging his head on our door on the way down. Security
arrived promptly after my call, and after cleaning and bandaging his hand,
they escorted him to his room across the hall from ours. By now it's 4:30
a.m. This could have been avoided if keys were checked at the elevator, as
they are in other strip properties. By the way, we could still see his
blood on our door and the hall rug the next morning. But hey, don't
let that deter you. If you can get a cheap room rate, this is a good place
to stay for the price.

Got room 17046 (a big question on that),
but see below. Got out of the elevator, turned north, walked,
noticed the even numbers faced the strip, walked some more, figured we'd
have to turn the corner and face Harrahs and the I.P. and whatever, but
ended up in the last room before the corridor turned. Woohoo!
View! Well, we could see at least 40% of the Bellagio Fountains, a
whole lot of Caesars, the Mirage, and Harrahs. The room itself was
pretty dated. Two queen beds, adequate dresser, 19" tv, pay-fo
safe, iron, one broken chair, one not broken, desk. Bathroom was
ultra unfancy, just shampoo/ conditioner, one kind of soap (oatmeal), and
I think a shower cap. I guess I'd give the room three stars, but
only because of the view. Shade didn't close all the way either. One
other note, the Flamingo strongly discouraged me from using my debit card
to cover add-on expenses (room charges, etc.) unlike Caesars three weeks
ago. Fwiw, we paid $80 for the room.

Agency: I booked through the Marketing Department at the Flamingo.
Amenities: Bar of soap, shampoo and some other liquid. Ice bucket,
iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Safe, table with two chairs and a
19" television. 2 beds, 4-5 lights. View: Great view of the
courtyard/pool area/buffet. The room was located on the 24th
floor. Great sunrise in the morning over the mountain. You
could see the back part of Bally's and that was all for being able to see
other hotels. Other: I love the casino down below. It has many
of those crazy multi-line nickel machines along with quarter and dollar
machines. Enough tables, but the roulette table was full for the
night that I was there. The Flamingo is in a perfect location
and the casino is just the right size.

Restaurants include Alta Villa (I go everytime I am in Vegas) great
Italian food. Lindy's Coffee Shop for cheese blintz and coffee

We
were given a room on the 5th floor (5093). It was a hike from the
elevators although fairly close to the ice machine. I was going to
ask for a specific view but I decided to let fate take its course.
The room was clean although a bit tired. The gold carpet by one of
the beds had a huge pink stain - something, like one of the obnoxiously
reddish-pink chairs, had obviously gotten wet and bled onto the floor.
Our view wasn't the greatest; mainly we got to see a roof and the gardens
in the distance and, if the heavy drapes weren't pulled shut at night,
then we were blinded by the lights on the roof. With the drapes
pulled it was fine, though, so I didn't ask to change. I also wasn't
too concerned about the view - I was with a teenager - how long were we
going to spend looking at the view? We tipped the maid $3/day.
When we first checked into the room there was one bar of soap, one shampoo
and one shower cap on the bathroom vanity. After the first round of
housekeeping I found extra soap, extra shampoo and lotion. Jackpot!
I'm guessing it was the tipping that led to my newfound bathroom wealth.

high roller, but get pretty regular offers. Actually after this
trip, I started getting offers for Caesar's regularly (guessing
because my play may have went up a bit since last time I was there
Casino rate still available over phone though. Good value if
overall. Food isn't bad at restaurants but I prefer other strip
properties for food. Drink service in casino is not very good,

SPECTACULAR!!! Now a view of the top of
B.C., Ballys, part of Paris (half the Eiffel Tower, gorgeous when lit at
night), south view of the rest of the strip, and the entire Bellagio
fountains! And this was a 'down grade', from a mini suite to an
Executive Room (rate dropped from $145 to $125, would have paid more just
for the view!). Very nice carpet/furnishings/bed, was only slightly
disappointed in the small size of the bathroom. 'Bout midway between the
two elevator banks, fine with us as it cuts down a bit on the foot traffic
outside. No complaints at all about the room/staff. Pool area is
beautiful, but we were simply destroyed by the heat. Tried the pool for
about 15-20 minutes, but with the 100+ temperature, the huge amount of
people, the pools and spray-misters taking the humidity to around 100%, it
just wasn't worth it. We knew it would be hot, but this was just too
much for us.

This room overlooks the strip.. it's on the
Caesar's side so you cant see
very much of the Bellagio fountains. At night the lights from the roof
below made the room a bit bright. Thankfully the curtains were heavy
enough
to darken most of it out. Same problem at sunset, the sun was VERY
bright.
The room was older (it still had the disposable razor blade slot in the
bathroom wall), but it was clean. The bathroom was a tad small, but the
room
was a decent size.
EXCELLENT internet connection (as opposed to the Aladdin). The desk clerk
said there the safe wasn't big enough for a laptop, but it most certainly
was !
The pool isn't very deep, but there are a LOT of cute young people hanging
out by it. I think it's a hotel that attracts the younger crowd. The
downside of that is that at night, there's a lot of drunk people walking
the
halls and making a lot of noise
Lots of electrical outlets in the room .. I liked that A LOT

After deplaning, I headed straight for the
taxi stand, completely
forgetting that the Flamingo has airport check-in, a mistake I
regretted when I arrived at the hotel and saw a monster line for
check-in. When I finally arrived at the head of the line, I was
offered an upgrade for $20 more. I had already gotten the casino rate
of $69.95 for the night, and I declined the upgrade.
My room was 26123, king size bed, smoking room. The room faced due
east and looked over the pool. Honestly, it looked just like every
other room I've ever stayed in at the Flamingo. Nice, clean, with a
sofa and a comfortable bed.
