Johnny cum lately?

Beef Tenderloin has become sort of a Christmas tradition around the Hog households. It's not cheap, but boy it sure tastes special and it really isn't difficult to make. Try our Beef Tenderloin Recipe Of The Week
Looking to keep the kids busy on Christmas Eve? Well, have them track Santa as he makes his trip around the world. Norad tracks Santa is an ingenious tool using Google Earth to show exactly where the goofy guy with the reindeer is at any one moment.
Blackjack is a game of luck that also requires skill by the player. Even the best Basic Strategy players we see make mistakes and sometimes they are just errors of omission. Sometimes though the error is because the player's idea about a hand is completely wrong. We show you some of the most misplayed hands in our Blackjack discussion section. See if you're not guilty of a few of these!
It's a couple of years old but it's still a marvel to watch. This Christmas light show was designed by Carson Williams from Ohio, a Hog who had a lot of spare time on his hands but it still demonstrates the power of our creativeness.

And pooh pooh to those who thought it was fake! Snopes.com put an end to those rumors and a face to the man behind the Light Before Christmas.. Merry Christmas everybody and we mean everybody.

Wow. This Thanksgiving we were turned on to Root Vegetables. Yeah, we know about carrots. But how about turnips and rutabagas? Before you turn your nose at this, try our Roasted Root Vegetable recipe this holiday season. It is a winner!
Nice to see some old HWTH readers drop by. They remember our IBOTY days with Busty Dusty. Our latest update in the Busty Beauties section had them complaining about broken links in Dusty's section. We fixed those and then promptly posted new updates to her page as well as a sign of appreciation.
It's been awhile but we were sent some new content from our buddies at Scoreland. We updated our Busty Beauties feature and added legendary performer Tawny Peaks to the mix.
Cyberhog tries in vain to define IT. IT being Duende, a Spanish word that still really hasn't made it to the English language. What is IT and Who has IT? Read Hog's column on Duende here!
Ashley is trimming her tree this Saturday at 12 noon EST. Her annual tree trimming show is open to all members of her site. Trust us, it's a show you won't want to miss!
Boy some of the things you find when you start cleaning house. This was back in 2004 when Caveman Joe retired Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat!
We're doing some maintenance on our site. We're updating old pages so they look consistent with our site. Some of these pages are almost 10 years old. Yeesh, some of the graphics we used to use! Ouch! Anyway, we were toying with getting rid of the Cars section. The reviews are at least 6 years old, but we decided not to because some of them review some classic cars. When we updated this section we realized we never released Gear Hog's review of the Lamborghini Murcielago. So here belatedly is our review (with a few surprises if you do some clicking on hyperlinks that is!)
In our Gaming Section we discuss more than just Blackjack and Craps. We take a look at other games as well and tell you what to play and what to avoid. We take a closer look at Sports Betting and try to explain what all those numbers mean and whether that parlay card is really such a good idea.
The Sahara Hotel has extended it's Holiday offers and Mandalay Bay, Monte Carlo and Luxor have added sweet deals too. Care to go to the Holy City? Check our Deals and Steals first!
Want to start a debate? Then how about "The Perfect Steak"? The Weber is in the garage, so how are you going to produce that magical piece of meat in the kitchen? We have the answer to Perfect Steak
The Presidential Race has been underway for almost a year, but we've refrained from commenting just because a race should only last 1 year. With less than a year to go, some political topics need commenting on, especially when they illuminate what a candidates TRUE philosophy really is. One of the most important is this year's discussion on the Flat Tax. Find out more about the Flat Tax in our Hog Editorial.
We opened our email this snowy December day and our hearts jumped for joy. It was Nikki Jackson our hot, busty, wild brunette checking in reminding us of how far we had fallen behind in updating her page. To rectify that and warm you guys up on this snowy day, we update Nikki's page with SIX brand new photo galleries! Check out Nikki Jackson our wild, busty brunette!
In the Gourmet Trough this week, we share with you one of our all time favorite recipes that the chef of David's Bistro in Des Plaines, Illinois shared with us awhile back. The Pork Medallions With Apple Date Gorgonzola Sauce is a winner just like David's Bistro!
Did your credit card survive "Black Friday"? Probably not. And after all that spending did the wife get you something you REALLY need or want for Christmas? Probably not. Why is that? Well, it's probably because we forgot to post Angry Johnny's Holiday Gift Guide For Hogs before the annual shopping day. Not a lot of good that does, because what woman would read this anyway? So enjoy opening that tie you're bound to get, but here's hoping someone will click on that link and save you the trauma.
Change is in the air in Chicago! John McDonough, the marketing genius behind the Cubs leaves to become president of the Chicago Blackhawks. Read why this is big news back in the Windy City!
Vanessa Montagne is another lady we'd like to see succeed and make oodles of money off of the internet and guys like you? why is that you ask? Because the lady works hard at trying to make guys happy? Is that so wrong? Check out our lovely vixen as we update her photo page with new pics and tons of teasers like the one on this page! Hubba hubba!
OK, we have our annual ski trip planned, but now we've got a SECOND ski trip planned for this winter. We can't call it our Annual Ski Trip can we? We already named the first one the annual ski trip, so we'll just call this our Tahoe Ski Trip and be done with it. If you can't make the annual, maybe you can hook up with is in Lake Tahoe.
Yes, the grill is in the garage, but that doesn't mean you can't wheel it out from time to time. In fact, Thanksgiving is a PERFECT time to use that Weber grill to barbecue the turkey. We have perfected the art of brining and producing a moist and tasty bird for the holiday. Check out our Turkey On The Grill.
Two legendary hotels in Las Vegas are offering incredible deals for this month and next. Check out what the Tropicana and Sahara are offering (rooms starting at only 39 dollars per night!!!)
IT'S HEEEERE!! If you have to ask what IT is, then we suggest you follow this link that not only announces a Hog Holiday Tradition but reviews it as well!
As the weather turns cooler, the grill has been put in the garage for only sporadic use during the season. We look indoors to the gourmet trough and we find the perfect cold weather dish that leaves us toasty and satisfied. Our recipe of the week features Barley Minestrone and it's a snap to make!
Cyberhog needs your help. He's come up with a list of Ten Sporting Events that he'd like to see in his lifetime. But, he needs help with the last one since he can't decide where to watch this game. Read his Ten Great Sporting Events and then tell him where to go!
We have a major babe alert! We've updated all of our Softwood features including Foxes, Dream Dolls, Fitness Beauties and of course Amber Evans. Check out our friend Woody and his great Softwood sites!
Well, the Grilling Season is over for us Northerly Hogs. Some of us can cook pretty good in the kitchen too, but we get a little help from the Hens here. We start the Gourmet Trough season with a classic dish that takes a little doing, but we have confidence in you. Our first Gourmet Recipe of the Week features Classic Lasagna! Enjoy with a nice Tuscan Red!
The Hogs have announced their intentions to go skiing in February! We're heading out to Utah February 6-11. Our airline reservations are in hand, however there seems to be some debate as to our home base. Will it be Park City or Salt Lake? Until we decide that, we wanted to let you know about our trip. Follow the details here
Frustrating losses in the casino lead some of the Hogs to speak blasphemy. Could this be our final trip to the Holy City? Say it ain't so Joe! Read about our exploits at this year's event: Sporgy VIII
Well this is the big event in the Hog season! The Baseball Playoffs are in high gear as is the College Football and Pro Football seasons. The Hogs will be in Las Vegas for our Eighth Annual Sporgy in Las Vegas. Caveman Joe for some inexplicable reason has not provided us with his picks for this year's Sporgy. We turn instead to a guy that has crunched numbers, put them in a data base and done statistical analyses on these games. Check out Cameron's Picks for Sporgy VIII
OK. Nothing as obnoxious as the 2003 season with latin phrases and "the year of our Cub" references ad nauseum. However, it seems awfully quiet in Cubdom right now. Are we guarding our hearts a bit? Let's talk about this year's team shall we?
This week's Grilling Recipe Of the Week has a really long name, probably the longest we've ever featured: Ginger Soy Marinated Grilled Shrimp with Hot Lime Chile Booster. However, it's easier than you think and pretty damned tasty too. We use Serrano or Habanera peppers to give it that extra kick!!
The ECL Playoffs are over and a new champion is crowned. Adam Mundy's Mundy's Maulers prevailed 2 games 1 to take our Fantasy Baseball Championship. Adam wins the 500 dollar first prize and the Bobble Head Trophy. Congrats to Adam and we hope to see all of you again next year! Read about Adam's victory here.
The ECL Playoffs are going the limit! Adam Mundy won week one and Tommy's Shoes on Steroids forced a rubber game this week. The hotly contested ECL Championship won't be decided until the last out is recorded Sunday night.
The Eighth Annual SPORGY (Sports Orgy) is less than three weeks away! My, my how time flies. If you haven't made arrangements yet to meet us out in Las Vegas, now is the time to act. Find out more here!
The Grilling Season is still in full swing. The weather is nice enough, even though the Mosquitoes aren't! In any case, we have a fabulous Salmon recipe that doubles as a quick and easy recipe as well as a recipe you would share with a gourmet group of friends in this week's grilling recipe!
One of our readers gave us a heads up on a broken link to a review of Dea Donnatella's website that we put up awhile back. Dea is a stunning lady from Zurich whose website is nothing short of high class, much like our Lady E's site. Dea has some novel concepts regarding interaction between her and her members. Read our review to find out.
In the Blackjack Discussion Section we focus on a particularly frustrating strategy that we see employed far too often in Las Vegas casinos. It's called the NO BUST Strategy and we aim to prove that this is a NO WIN Strategy.
September 10, 2007? Is this the day the Cubs fans will remember as the day the sleeping giant has awakened? Our reporter was a Wrigley Field and he has a whole slew of observations coming your way!
The Eamus Catuli League's regular season has concluded and our two division champions will be playing for the coveted ECL trophy and an additional 250 dollars in prize money. Check out the final standings here, and read about our two finalists!
This week's grilling recipe of the week is deceptive. We introduce you to our Beer Can Chicken, which is a great way to make chicken on the grill if you don't have a rotisserie. But, we expose our mango salsa, cherry barbecue sauce, dry rub recipe and our corn bread recipe all in one fell swoop. So, pop open a Schlitz, you,re getting a bonus this week!

The Trough's "On The Run" is back! This time, we're featuring another fast food gem from the Chicago area, the Italian Beef Sandwich. While this gourmet city is loaded with great Beef stands, one stands out among the rest as the quintessential Italian Beef. We visit Johnnies Beef on the near west side of Chicago in Elmwood Park.

Summer is in full swing and time to push away a bit from heavy meals. Here is a great Halibut dish for the grill that will make you remember the dog days of summer because of it's marriage of summer flavors. Try our Chile Glazed Halibut tonight and see if we're dead on!
Freedom is another word for nothing left to lose. It seems that Detroit Tommy and Court Jester are that much closer to losing it all. What was once a celebration of Freedom after Shoes' divorce is now a celebration of Freedom that will soon be lost as both of our honorary hogs are taking the plunge one more time. What better way to send them off then Freedom Fest III?
After a couple of our trips around the world, we've noticed a disturbing Libation trend. One of our venerable favorites is threatened with extinction. Read about our horrific tales in the Libation Station regarding our old friend The Manhattan (not be confused with an Old Fashioned).
Our Baseball expert chimes in with his 2007 All Star Ballot. Nothing too controversial unless you consider calling sportsline's David Gonos a fat, well, you know, PIG! Anyway, here is our expert's view on this year's mid season classic!
A brand new Las Vegas Diary from CyberHog detailing his adventures at this years Solar System Series of Poker and Big Empire Cocktail Soiree on June 7th through the 11th. Includes photos and movies as well! Read all about here using our handy menu!
We got this recipe from the Baron of Barbecue, Paul Kirk in Bon Appetit. We've used it on ribs as well. It's a great mix of sweet and spicy. The key to this recipe? SEA SALT ironically! Check out his Grilled Pork Chops with Maple-Cranberry Glaze!
Billhere updates his Las Vegas Openings and Closings. These are openings and closings for the past month and well beyond (into the year 2010). We're happy to see that not only is the Tropicana NOT going to be imploded, it's going to be vigorously expanded!
Memorial Day is the FIRST of the major Hog Holidays during the Grilling/Barbecue Season after Opening Day. Our incredible Latin Style Ribs paired up with beans and slaw will make a dynamite impression on your guests and lower intestines.
Ever wonder how a "Sports Expert" becomes a "sports expert"? It's usually because a guy (usually a guy) can put two sentences together, either on the typewriter or from a teleprompter. But do they actually KNOW anything more than the casual sports fan? This week the ECL examines the merits of the sexy, easy on the eyes Amber Wilson from CBS Sportsline and why sportsline insists on diluting her charms by having her share video segments with one of these so-called "experts".
Opening Day is FINALLY here! The chance for the Hog to move outdoors and grill and barbecue and smoke full time! Check out our Opening Day Pics, along with our rib recipes from past Fests. This year we add a special recipe to Opening Day: Nonnymous' Las Vegas Style Ribs
Week 4 brought more intrigue to the Eamus Catuli League, our Fantasy Baseball product. Was this the week that cream rose to the top? Find out!
Did you know that when a casino offers 3:2 Blackjack it nets the player over 2 and a quarter percent. Playing 6:5 is insane! In any case, there are other rule changes that affect basic strategy as well. We go over some of the major ones in our Blackjack Discussion.
There was utter carnage this week in the ECL. 7 of the 10 teams bested 300 points and 4 flirted with 400. It was a week filled with offense and pitching. Read about the ECL's incredible here.
Opening Day is only a few short weeks away. Soon all of the Hogs will be outside grilling every day. Until then, we still have a couple of great Low Carb Recipes to share with you. One of them was inspired by Greg Norman. It's a Ginger and Hot Pepper Prawn recipe that he has on his site, only we tweaked it just a bit.
Cyberhog has finally finished with his Baseball preview as he adds his National League Predictions as well as his playoff and World Series predictions. Read more CH at his home page.
We're two weeks into our Fantasy Baseball season and already the trash talk is flying. The highly competitive Eamus Catuli League has everyone with at least one victory. Everyone that is except one. Read about it here.
Okay, so some things are easy and then there are some things that are brain dead easy. This week's Low Carb recipe featuring Roasted Ginger Salmon falls into the latter category. You can thank us later.

The ECL will be holding it's draft for all players who signed up for this year's league on Sunday March 18 at 8pm ET. The commissioner has announced the draft order and has also posted a mock draft from a league he is participating in for reference.
Boy, things don't get much easier in the Low Carb Trough! This week's BBQ Chicken recipe contains fewer steps than carbs! Each 4 carb piece only nets a 3 step process by the Hog!
Unlike other casino games, Blackjack is the game that requires players to be aware of the rules and the environment that they are playing in. This month's Blackjack Discussion goes over some of the things you have to look for when selecting a table to play at.

Shrimps or Scallops? Shrimps of Scallops? Which gets featured in the trough the most? Haven't counted, but if you served either to a hog, it'd be appreciated. Combine the Scallops with Italian Sausage and grilled onion and you this week's Low Carb Recipe Of The Week
Draft time for the ECL has been moved down to 8pm Eastern Time. We have a few rules issues we'd like owners to consider.
Baconstrip is back for this year's Commitment To Excellence. After succeeding in last year's CTE, baconstrip is focusing on health issues for all of us Hogs during CTE. But first, he updates us on his condition while continuing the Atkins Diet.
This week's low carb recipe is one that got sent to us from somebody who got it from Bon Appetit. We modified it a bit and present it to you because Chicken Saltimboca is just so damned good! Try it with our snow pea recipe.

We've updated our Downtown Las Vegas Hotel Guide to reflect some of the changes that have occurred since our last update. We rely on your input, so Share your ratings with us: Strip Hotel Rating Form or Downtown Hotel Rating Form
Along with updating our Ski Resort Ratings to reflect our latest trip, we also realized that we had missed adding a wonderful link to our Ski Links page. Real Skiers is a great site for the average Joe who is looking for gear, looking to get better or just starting out. It is a subscription site, so most of the good stuff lies behind a 20 dollar annual fee. But it is well worth it!
We're back from our Ski Trip and we've logged our trip report. Despite the lack of snow, we still had a great time and would love to return to Steamboat in the near future!
Uncle Paul reports from Super Bowl XLI. Water logged and lost his voice after the opening kick off. A Bear fan's perspective from the big game.

His CTE was to lose weight and lose weight he did. Read about baconstrip's entire CTE here. Bacon has promised to update us with his condition this year, so stay tuned!
Well, we're slightly hung over from the festivities yesterday. Our Beloved took a hit in the big game, but we still had a blast at our giant Super Bowl party. It was 10 below zero outside, but inside there were so many nervous bear fans, Ken had to turn on the air conditioner! Now that we're getting the cobwebs out we're now staring at the Dog Days gentlemen! That means only one thing! CTE BABY! Time to get back in shape for Opening Day. Read about our Commitment To Excellence and hopefully we can inspire you to join us in our journey.
The biggest holiday of the year is celebrated this Sunday! And this year the game is that much more special for the Hogs as "The Beloved" take the field. Most of us will be at Mo and Ken's for the big bash and among the many dishes that will be passed is the enclosed Super Bowl Party Menu that we've perfected over the years. Drink plenty of Sierra Nevadas boys because (ski trip or no ski trip) CTE starts on Monday !!!!
Our Bikini Riot feature gets a big upgrade with new galleries and a first for us: Video Clips! Now you can see these honeys in motion! Check it out it's free!
Maybe it's superstition but people ask "Why are you guys so quiet about this year's Super Bowl?" Yes, we are Bear Fans and we're certainly proud of our team. It's just that you have to excuse us when we get ready to brag before the big game. Cyberhog tells you why the Bears aren't getting any love from the sports authorities and why we're not just drinking koolaid when we bet on the home team.
The Hogs have announced that Harrah's Hotel and Casino will be home base for the Eighth Annual Sporgy in Las Vegas. Please mark you calendar for October 5 through the 9th for the Hogs annual pilgrimage to the Holy City!

Cyberhog updates the Las Vegas Hotel Room Descriptions. If you're curious as to which rooms to request and which ones to avoid, this is the page for you!

Ever wonder why we have to do CTE every year? Sure it's all that beer we drink during grilling season. Then the holidays kick in and then the football playoffs followed by the Super Bowl. You get the idea. Loads and loads of caloric intake. Nothing but nothing however compares to our hens' desserts. This week we are featuring three taste temptations: Blackberry Almond Coffee Cake (good enough for breakfast), Blackberry Cream Cheese Crepes (ditto) and Blackberry Upside Down Cake (ditto ditto). CTE is right around the corner guys, get your sin in!
Blackjack is a profitable game for the casino. It's also a good game to play if you know what conditions to look for and are a good basic strategy player. How does one exist alongside the other? When speaking of Casino Advantage, the casino holds a very small edge over the skilled player. However the Casino Hold is another story. Find out how casinos effect the Hold without changing the advantage in our latest Blackjack Discussion.
Just to let you guys know we're beginning the planning of our 8th annual orgy of sports betting and gaming in Las Vegas. We fondly refer to it as The Sporgy. You'll notice our Sporgy banner up here briefly. This is just to rally the Hogs into beginning their strategies for getting the yard pass required. We'll take the banner down once we've established our home base and the trip is paid for. We'll announce the entire trip again in fall for those of you who would like to join us for Sporgy VIII!
We follow up our success with Veal Osso Bucco with a wonderful Roast Leg of Lamb. The discovery of the roasting pan is truly a God send. Don't spend more than 50 bucks though. We found one for 30 at an after Christmas sale. Once you have this, Gourmet Trough recipes are a snap. Wait for our next recipe for Prime Rib!!!!
Our ski trip for 2007 is now confirmed! We are returning to the place where we really learned how to ski almost 16 years ago to the day: Steamboat, Colorado. We're going for 5 fun filled, parsimonious days as we live the ski bum lifestyle in Ski Town USA. Check out the details.
